Re: 2024 Spring Ball

As a 20+ year Yosef Club member I wish I had known about an open event.

Can’t be disappointed if you don’t communicate.

App State finished 101 in offensive efficiency in the NCAA, that is in the top third. For reference we were 274th in 2022 and 217th in 2021.

We are one pure shooter that can play defense from being a top 50 team.

Donovan Gregory Appreciation Thread

Just watched the presser and listened to all the great things Kerns had to say about the young man. By all accounts Donovan a better person than a basketball player and as Coach said he's a member of the App State Basketball Mount Rushmore. Thank you for being a key member of the program, ushering i...

And the talent level is improving. Also depth of the talent. Kerns had Ike Johnson, Forrest, Lewis, Delph, and Lewis Jr., Gregory (as a freshman), but not much depth. The real improvement is in the post depth since that first year. I wish Lewis had worked out better, could have used him last night....

Re: MBB at Wake Forest, NIT 1st round, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 8:00 p.m., ESPN+, LJVM, Winston-Salem, 421 Warfare

Our interior passing is excellent and our flow outside in is solid (when we do it). The shot selection from outside the arc is questionable at times. This isn't a Harcum only issue, but last night he took 3-4 shots that weren't high percentage shots (off balance, fading the opposite direction, etc.)...

Wait... so all those folks early in the season were right. Free throws DID make a difference come tournament time. Just not in they way they meant.
Yes, always have been.

I’ve not seen Kerns react like that in his tenure. The call was terrible.

Core is coming back, excited to see what the team can do if everyone sticks together.

Refs were going to make sure the outcome tonight.

Two BS goaltends, moving screens not called, touch fouls called in the second half.

I’m not a fan of the NIL but will support a go fund me if Kerns gets fined in the presser.

Kerns all over these refs and it’s appropriate. Wake leaning in to screens and not getting called for their reach ins.

Rough start.

Can we storm the court after we beat them?
Yes. As long as no one runs into Abson and blows his knee out. Or Donovan. Or anyone else.

That sort of thing has been known to happen at LJVM.
But I hear they rise from the dead within three days. Miracles are everywhere.

We are going to do some renovations, which are needed. I don’t see the need for more capacity in these uncertain times unless the funding is guaranteed up front.
One might say “fully funded”.

Re: NIT

There will be 15-20 conference champs ranked lower than us in the NCAA. If only NET mattered we’d make the NIT, but number of eyeballs might win the day. We’ll see.

Re: TIGMA NIL

NIL is a tough sell, but at one time our Yosef Club was a pretty tough sell. (still is to a lot of our fans). NIL is likely here to stay and breaking it in like this with the fanbase is the way to go. Agree. The Yosef Club is still a pretty tough sell for some. Strangely and unfortunately true.

Great point, interior line may be the biggest question mark this season. That’s usually when someone steps up. Anyone have any guesses who that will be for 2024?

I disagree with those that are saying this is a bad wasted season. I haven’t been this engaged on a day to day basis for basketball in 15 years. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Culture change takes awhile, significant steps were taken this year.
