I would like to see an offensive set of Harcum, Mantis, Huntley at the three point arch with Spillers and Abson down low with an inside out plan to shoot three with Abson and Spillers crashing the board..

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
https://collegefootballnetwork.com/college-football-playoff-projection/ App predicted to make this year’s playoff by CFN. That’s pretty cool. I still think we’ll need to go unbeaten to have a chance, but also depends on what other G5 teams have accomplished as well. It would depend on what the rest...

Re: Free Throws
100% agree Free throws at the end of the game are nothing like a free throw in practice. I played a lot of basketball and the one thing that frustrates a player is missing free throws because everyone expects you to make them. This team is awesome and I will take poor free throw shooting all day vs ...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
Couldn't agree more with many comments about rail. It is a great way to travel, if done right. The problem with our democracy is people tend to vote what is best for them instead of what is good for the overall population. I love the idea of adding a tax to a gallon of gas to pay for rails across Am...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
More people need to visit Europe and they would be excited about the possibility and would maybe vote for more rail transportation. There are a lot of great things about Europe to visit, but the trains stand out in my mind more than anything. It is amazing what taxes can do if used properly. Every I...

Re: JMU on bubble but not us?
The chances of the Belt getting two bids is extremely low, but it requires Troy to loose again. If we and JMU win out (with a Troy loss) we're the 1 seed and JMU would be the 2. I a pretty sure that is the only reasonable way we could play JMU in the conference finals. App or JMU could beat Troy in...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
Like I said earlier, I wish the G5 conferences would have used this vote to create the second level NIT 12 team playoff that the p4 conferences had to participate in. This would have led to good money for the G5 conferences with p4 names in the tournament. I think the G5 commissioners missed on a go...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
If you don't get it at this point then you just aren't going to get it. They will do whatever it takes to keep the mo ey at the top. When and if they can they will keep any and all G5 out and yes, I'd wager many years that will be the case. You may be right, but it will be very interesting who is w...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
Some of you need to confront reality, other than a once in a blue moon great season G-5 teams not part of the college football invitational/popularity contest. It's a feature, not a bug. This isn't about football, it's about money and ASU will never have the dough to be part of the old boys club no...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
This format gave me and App what we needed. This officially made the "P5/G5" a made up term. Our conference is not limited by a contract naming who gets automatic qualifiers. The conference has to earn it or one of their teams have to earn it. The Sunbelt add campaign is so true now...."Together we ...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
I don't think we are anymore screwed than the ACC and the Big 12. It is going to be the SEC and Big? that gets 1/4th each of the payout. ACC and Big12 are going to get 1/12. We have a chance to get 1/12th. Michigan 13-0 2 Washington 13-0 3 Texas 12-1 4 Alabama 12-1 5 Florida State 13-0 6 Georgia 12-...

The net problem may keep us out of the NIT if we don't win the Sunbelt tournament. That would be a shame. This team deserves a decent post season tournament.
My hope is the AppState brand and fanbase get us in the NIT, if we don't make the big dance.

Looking back over the season....It seems we have trouble with teams that have good defensive guards. When we can't penetrate we seem to stall. (That's what she said).
Troy and Texas State have strong guard play. Tough guys that push through screens and play solid D!!!!!!!!!!

Still a great team and I think still in first place. I will take it. Great job guys. Keep up the hard work and welcome back to the warm embrace of a packed Holmes Center. (Hopefully)

Abson had 7 blocks...that is like making 14 free throws. He is not blocking 3 point shots that are iffy. He is blocking lay ups that should be 2 points but are 0/not. Our free throws should be 2 points but end up being 1. I think we can beat anyone right now. I wouldn't bet on us to beat anyone. How...
