Re: Spring Tour - Raleigh
No huge news that I heard. Gillin's, Satt's and Tracy's presentations were, of course, very similar to what was reported from Charlotte. Matt Ginipro gave a good presentation about volleyball's improvement, but more about how successful the outgoing senior class has been both athletically and academ...

Re: NCAA places three-year moratorium on new bowls
I highly doubt App would have missed the NY6 at 12-0 with a win over 12-1 ACC champ Clemson. Had Houston gone 13-0... who knows. But those are two hypotheticals. Reality is that we weren't even close to beating Clemson (or A-State, for that matter). BTW, the idea that Boise made the Mountain West is...

Re: NCAA places three-year moratorium on new bowls
Understand the overall number of bowls is arguably too many, but I do wish we could find a way to get that Charleston bowl going. Eastern portion of the Sun Belt really needs some more convenient destinations, and that will only become more of an issue once Coastal joins.

Re: DJ's Status?
I'd say the fact that App is still trying to get him to come back after he basically decided to walk away from his job in the middle of basketball season and not come back says a lot about how valued he is. DJ is terrific but that's not something you typically do if you want to keep your job.

Klondike forever. Saw quite a few concerts there. If everything in Boone were shiny and new, it wouldn't be Boone. But this is coming from a guy who makes sure to visit Murphy's most times when I'm in town.

Re: Future home games
If we're scheduling an FCS team, I want someone who can barely walk and chew gum, at least until we're established enough to reliably blow out higher-level FCS teams.
I don't want an "interesting" FCS opponent. If an FCS game is interesting, we're doing something wrong.

Re: Future home games
It appears that Gardner-Webb and ETSU will be on future schedules at KBS. G-W appears on the home sked in 2018 and the Bucs in 2019 and 2024. I have no problem with those. It gives us an easy (hopefully easy) home game, an opponent we can buy out if we get a better offer, and we help out a couple o...

Thanks for the well-thought-out response, 1990. Agree or disagree with the student's views, better to react like a grown up than a YouTube commenter.

First of all, congrats to the young man. Seems like a promising kid who wants to make his school better and will do big things in life. As to athletics funding... I'll just refer to his own words: "And if you can find what people are passionate about, it’s not that hard to inspire them.” Well, peopl...

Re: ODU might renevate Foreman Field
If they go that route, they would need a total overhaul, which it looks like is what is being proposed. The site is pretty good (on-campus), but the stadium itself is basically a high school stadium with a luxury tower slapped on one end.

Re: App State Pro Day
I see Blair as a 3-4 DE ideally, but he could play as an undersized 4-3 DE as well. I know 3-4 OLBs are bigger in the NFL, but I'm not really a fan of having guys who are that bulky playing in space.

Re: Mosser transferring; major roster overhaul under way
Ah, well if your point was about opening up scholarships, I see what you mean. I was focusing more on the players who are departing. And honestly, I've never been entirely clear on whether a few of those guys are on scholarship, so thanks for clearing that up. If he can find five more must-take play...

Re: Mosser transferring; major roster overhaul under way
Eight players leaving sounds like a major overhaul, but realistically we're talking about Eaves (who admittedly IS a big loss) and a few seniors who were role players on a 9-win team. The guys who are transferring were practice players, and we have no shortage of those. I'm hopeful we can get to .50...

Re: App State Pro Day
Malachi and Middleton with some very impressive all-around numbers. Blair significantly improved on his disappointing 40 time from the combine. Jesse Chapman another nice surprise to me, measured bigger than he was listed on the roster, with very impressive # of bench reps and even a good 40 time. B...

I can see the tweets fine. Wondering if you're behind a corporate or work firewall that blocks twitter? I am not - I can view both Twitter itself and tweets posted on this board by other users. When I post a tweet here, I just copy and paste the URL into my post. Not sure if there's any drawback to...

It's cool, don't mean to add extra work for you. I can see Gonzo's second post with the tweet about Malachi's 40 time, so just wasn't sure why the others aren't showing up.

Most of Moose's posts are showing up as blank to me (other than the reply to mine). I'm guessing they're tweets. Anyone else having this issue, or just me?

While we're on the subject, BWN has a good read up today on Davante Harris. Great example of how much work can go into "putting guys in the league." Sounds like our staff went the extra mile, and then some, to help this kid reach his potential, and now he's going to get his shot: http://www.journaln...

I'm afraid Tennessee will be another ugly one for us. I do have high hopes for the Miami game, though.
