Re: Old man "get on my lawn rant"-South Alabama
Does security arrest and book drunk students or offer then a safe space and maybe a nudge into some counseling if the drinking is a problem? Does it make a difference if they are underage.

Re: Old man "get on my lawn rant"-South Alabama
Fan police, we all have our lives. It was 42-7. Haven't seen as many overserved students this year as in the past. The ones I talked to have been very charmingly engaging. Scott I just had a post about this and it is not showing up. So short recap. I don't usually complain about this but for SYC I ...

Re: Old man "get on my lawn rant"-South Alabama
Your "get off my lawn" is reasonable and doesn't even approach the anger newapp had last week. Incidentally, I have dealt with more drunk college kids this year than ever. I mean, alcohol-poisoned and passing out covered in vomit when they came into the stadium. What the hell? Newapp, I apologize f...

Re: Old man "get on my lawn rant"-South Alabama
This was my first home game of the year so I did my duty and complain about the lack of ice and souvenir cups. I was not even thirsty but I did complain. Thankfully with the clouds the temperature was very pleasant, and the rain held off until we made it to the Lutheran Church and I was out of Boon...

I wish we never dropped a set but there is also something to be said about coming back down 2 sets that speaks to the drive of this team.

Re: Attendance?
Yep, the ETRY still runs over 7 miles in Johnson City, TN and connects to both CSX and NS it seems. I doubt it serves as a bridge between the two as I imagine NS and CSX also connect with each other somewhere in Johnson City without the need for the ETRY. https://www.gwrr.com/railroads/north_america...

Bubas Cup 2018-2019
2018-2019 Bubas Cup Standings. Obviously very early and the round robin sport of MSOC has yet to play any conference matches yet. But I wanted to toss this out now. Unlike the Sun Belt travel options post I have that anyone can edit, only I have editing options for those. However if you want to hel...

Re: Attendance?
A few take aways. One, trees do grow back, but don't denude a mountain side.
Two, I really wish Boone still had a train. Maybe someday Amtrak will go to Asheville and I can ride Amtrak to Hickory and find some other way to get to Boone in time for the game.

Re: Dark Sky and Homecoming
I was at the 7:30 session and the clouds and possible rain kept the dome closed. Dr. Caton gave an interesting talk about the solar eclipse, dark skies and lighting, and some on the history of Dark Sky Observatory. One of the student helpers mentioned there is an open house next Friday. I can't get ...

Re: That hit by Duck
My wife and her friend gasped out loud and strained to see that the guy got back up...Duck is just an amazing competitor.. I am glad the guy got up. My daughter also let out a gasp. Glad we was able to bounce up quickly. He hit the turf so hard, I don’t think he had a choice but to bounce back up. ...

I have a few books about Western North Carolina railroading I can recommend to those that would like to know more about this history. Even more forgotten is the train into Todd.

Re: ESPN+
I watched a few highlights a few hours later and the color was correct. Whatever it is, it must be starting at the internet transmission stage or a slow connection on the user side is dropping some info that messes up the color on those devices. If everyone is getting the same bad colors I would thi...
