Re: Coaches Poll 9.27
App's signature win after 3 games is against UNCC. Throw in a loss to G5 Marshall where App looked lost on national TV and I would expect few if any votes. Just need to do what App has done the last 3 years and win the game in front of you. This is going to be a screwy year for all teams and without...

Re: #FailSouthern
Took alot of guts for GS to go for 2 and the lead after their last score and the play Werts made in converting the 2 pointer reminded me a little of some of the wizardry we saw from a certain #14 in Black and Gold for a long time. Too bad "prevent D" gave UL the opportunity to drive within long FG r...

Re: ESPN+
I still remember following games on my computer where I had to keep refreshing the page to get a description of each play, and before the internet, no way to follow App games in the Atlanta area so I can certainly live with ESPN+ .

Re: Official Concord Commuter prediction thread
The lack of atmosphere and home field bothers me a little but App is such a veteran team it shouldn't matter.

Re: Why don’t we just play Western Carolina as our FCS game every year?
In the words of Steve Spurrier, "It's not a rivalry if the same team wins every year". Let's face it, App won 25 of 28 games from 1985 thru 2013. I see no issue with App playing them occasionally but I'm sure they get lots more $$ to travel elsewhere.

Re: Biggest Football Heartbreak
The Packer & Durham show on ACC Network was discussing the Biggest Heartbreak Games in recent years for each ACC school. For UNC their loss to Clemson last year was the one they picked as Most Heartbreaking but the loss to Appalachian was also listed as a contender. This made me wonder what folks c...

Re: Season Record Prediction Thread
Like all teams this year it depends on what players have to quarentine from week to week. It's going to take a lot of player and program disipline to make it thru the season without significant player sitouts. That said, at full strength App should be favored in every game. This offense could be epic!

Re: Corey Sutton - Opting Out
Rather he comes back to App (I hope) or takes the NFL route, I just hope he can stay healthy enough to reach his full potential. Best of luck to him either way!

Re: App/CLT part 3
-20.5 line seems a little optimistic. UNCC made it a game last year and I suspect the same this year. I really want to see our defense perform well. My expectations for our offense are the same as last year given we return the house. But I’ll definitely be more excited if we won a 28-10 game versus...

Re: Favorite App Football (non-game) Memory
This is more after game related. After the Michigan game in 2007, my wife and I partied until midnight then returned to the Holiday Inn (maybe Express) not too far from the stadium. We went to bed and as expected, I was so wired I tossed and turned until 3am. At that point I told my wife I couldn't ...

Re: Ah - Drink finds he is not in Kansas (or Boone) anymore
Bama and LSU is a pretty tough draw. Drink won 12 games including UNC and USC during his one year at App so he is alright by me. Glad he got the big payday because unless Mizzu is patient, he might need it.

Re: Schedule
Guys, I want football as well but will we make money off these games? With very limited capacity I can't imagine a gate that is very lucrative and worth the risks. I also wonder about the impact of agents and others pointing out how those games won't help the stock of our guys. They likely encourag...

Be very careful just in case any of that nasty disease ridden GaSo swamp water was spilt on it during one of their visits to The Rock.

Re: Spring 2021 Football?
I have my doubts about the NBA, MLB and other team professional leagues being able to finish their seasons at this point with lot of positive tests and some players opting out already. As far as college football, there has been such a huge uptick in young people testing positive for the virus recent...
