Re: OK you guys - BOOKMARK THIS THREAD

A penalty that still wakes me up at night is when we hit the UGA QB OUT OF BOUNDS on a 3rd down play where we would have held them to three straight 3 and outs in 1st qtr. Not to mention hurting the QB which woke UGA up! Of all the penalties we've had this year, I don't know why that one haunts you...

Re: TIGMA Award -- There is one

For a change, our offense played good enough to win the game, but the defense let us down today. Jalin, Taylor, Lewis, and Hennigan had great games. Lewis with what 2-3 TDS and over 100 yards in returns?? He has really stepped his game up for us, as of late Yep...Those four all had great games! Ike...

Re: Defense

OK...I'm just a disappointed as everyone else and there is absolutely no doubt that this year's team should be performing better. At least in my opinion, even with the injuries, they should be playing better than we've seen the past couple of weeks and at times before (first half of Idaho, etc.). It...

Re: Toledo - NIU

If we get our D healthy, I feel very good about them against any opponent we play. We do need Moore to get healthy which he should certainly be by Bowl game (barring another future injury). As a team we played badly against UMass but even with all the injuries, we had to shoot ourselves in the foot ...

Re: App State looks to correct mistakes going into game with ULM

General statements about dropped passes and penalties are obvious and unequivocal points. Whether a particular call in a specific instance was good or not is ultimately a function of whether is worked. It hinges on execution and on whether the D failed to respond. There are certainly plays in almost...

Re: Western Michigan vs. Central Michigan?!

As a conference, the MAC has always struggled with attendance, but I would think a Wednesday night game in a down pour is going to be a hard draw for almost any G5. I think App could get more than 11K (or I hope we could) but I'm not sure most Sunbelt schools could....or CUSA for that matter.

Re: App State looks to correct mistakes going into game with ULM

I think folks need to drop the whole "they need to admit they made a bad call" crap. Sorry, but they don't owe you that. I've heard Coach Satterfield acknowledge that he/coaches made mistakes before and didn't put the team in the best position. I don't see this as an issue and I don't know why anyon...

Re: Injuries

I understand people being frustrated but I don't understand people giving up on this team. It's been a frustrating season, but I've seen a lot of young talent step up and show glimpses of the future that give me hope. Even this past Saturday, I saw a third string RB rush for over 100 yards while spl...

Re: Worst play called ---

The truth is that almost any of the "brilliant gutsy" calls that coaches have made to win unlikely games would be on the list of "worst calls ever" if they hadn't worked. Let's be honest, even the "Go for 2" call that Bobby Lamb made was a statistically solid decision. The likelihood of the pass bei...

Re: This game

I don't really think this game is the beginning of any trend. It is the culmination of a group of trends....youth, injuries, and a season where inconsistency has been a problem (driven largely by the first two factors no doubt). We can't be world beaters every single year. I think we still have a go...

Re: “I” in Appalachian

I could be completely off base, but I always thought it was supposed to be a dove. That logo so I don't think birds of prey would be the theme. I could be totally off base and I'm honestly not sure why I've always thought that.

Re: Official Paul Revere prediction thread

Regarding UMass scoring 50 on GS, I did not watch the game. I did watch a good bit on the GS/Arkansas State game and all I can say is that the GS defense was BAD. To be honest, BOTH Defenses looked BAD in that game. Hopefully our D is healthier than last week. The good news is that Woody generally d...

Re: Georgia State Game

USA probably is a bit over rated this year, but they have been a team that was extremely inconsistent and when "on" their game, they were capable of playing very well. They completely dominated App in 2014, although that was a couple of weeks before the lights came on for our program. In 2015 they ...

Re: UGa

We played extremely well against them in the first quarter while Eason was in at QB. When he was injured, the tide immediately changed. Fromm has a much quicker release and he started eating away at our D and moving the ball. I have to check the box scored, but I'm almost certain that we had more ya...

Re: Opening line for UMass

Maybe reverse psychology will come into play. We get large spreads and turn them into close games. This tight spread turns into a blowout. Yeah! That's the ticket!

(We can always hope)

Re: dumpster fire at the stink

I really don't think Saturday was the same "inconsistency" that we've been seeing earlier in the season. Previously, the issue has been primarily the offense being unable to get on track. The offense really was not the problem Saturday, even with our RBs dinged up. It looks to me like CCU did a good...

Re: Chat

It is frustrating to watch Rubino struggle, but he is not kicking in a vacuum. It's already been stated multiple times that kicking has a HUGE mental component. The classless idiots who boo our own kicker as he attempts to score for App are undermining the coaches process. I absolutely agree that th...

Re: Official Chokin Chicken prediction thread

I think it is funny how we always build up teams we beat to justify the close games. Texas State is 1-6 with the lone win being a 9 point victory of Houston Baptist in the first game of the season. They are not a good team and we struggled against them. New Mexico State is a whopping 3-4 on the sea...
