Re: Jason Capel... should he stay or should he go?
We may be a football school, but having 100 or so students show up to games is ridiculous. If the team wins, the fans will support them. If the team continues to lose, then you will see less and less students show up. Student turnout really isn't that bad compared to alum turnout. About 90% of the ...

Re: Jason Capel... should he stay or should he go?
Is this a serious question? If we have any means to replace him, it MUST be done or we can go ahead and chalk up another god-awful year.

Re: Citadel
Silver lining: We made it on sports center for a good play this time. At this point, who cares about basketball loses? We have two more agonizing games, the conference tourney and then we can lose the Tar Hole and concentrate on baseball. I hate it mostly because Nate Healy is one of my all-time fav...

Re: Canisius @ Appalachian - Roll Call
What kind of stellar regular season would it take of a SoCon school to host a regional? It'd take a very good one, a regular season and conference tournament title for sure, but it's not impossible. Several schools outside the 'Big 4' have hosted regionals in recent years - Rice, ECU, Coastal Carol...

Cee got destroyed by the Wolf Sacks. I'm sure Niner Nation still thinks their baseball program is head and shoulders above App State though....

Re: Appalachian @ NC State - Roll Call
I noticed the GoASU schedule still has the Sat. NCSTATE game as "postponed," while the Sunday game is listed cancelled, is there a chance we squeeze one back in later? I'd love to see that happen but I'm not holding my breath. Likely listed that way because the game was initially postponed until Su...

GOOD.
IMO, we're about 5 years late in finally phasing out the Davy Jones Yosef. What a terrible logo.

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
I hope my grandsons don't pick ASU. or any other school for that matter, based on the number of bars in close proximity. Also, if my grandkids choose a commuter type school, I don't care as long as they get a quality education that leads to a quality, well paying career. I want my kids/grandkids to...

Re: APP States Harlem Shake!!
Things like this, our football games' student turnout and the Osama riot/parade are what lead me to believe that App State has the highest per-capita school spirit in North Carolina.

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
I don't argue versus the perception - it was something that was there for many years. It is one of those things that take awhile to shake. When I graduated in 95 the commuter nature of the school was already shifting and is far less true today than it was 20 years ago and football will be yet anoth...

Re: Appalachian @ NC State - Roll Call
I'd be a lot more mad if we didn't win yesterday. The way we beat them Friday and scared them out of their own ball park today, I consider this a series sweep.

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
As for being ignorant - I have researched the App basketball numbers so I wouldn't say I was off base there. I also have been in Boone plenty and was going to games there before some of you set foot on campus in Boone. So you know how to use Google and you have an outdated perception of Appalachian...

Apps up 32-30. Healy just got a T foul. Getting really chippy out there. I'm only streaming the audio, so I don't really know what happened. Is there a free video feed?

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
Speaking of the original topic, I came to a realization the other day. The article asserts that UNCC had a stellar recruiting year because of their return to CUSA. Well, since half of their recruiting class didn't have a single FBS offer while all but one ASU recruit did, it is accurate to say that ...

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
I'm from an area just outside of the city and you can't drive a mile without seeing several App stickers on cars. I've sported App gear downtown, at BOA, Bobcats arena, the light rail-- the works, and I've never heard a comment that wasn't positive. I don't go to the Concord/Harrisburg area too ofte...

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
Ok I finally had to break down and formally respond to the endless stream of fallacies present in that thread over on the UNCcee board. I REFUSE to sink to their level and actually register for the site and I'm sure every one of them is eagerly refreshing the page on our board, so I will do so here:...
