Re: Vs western
Unfortunately D-1 competition in the sunbelt is far superior to that of d-1 Socon. Only going to get worse I'm afraid, until we get a coach that can recruit legitimate D-1 talent.

Re: Mount Rushmore of App State Football
I'm pretty comfortable with coach Moore, A.E. and Settle as three for sure. But I'm conflicted in picking my 4th. I wonder if Gutzen Borglum had the same struggle before deciding on Teddy Roosevelt for his 4th. lol

Awesome! Maybe a season changer. Apps were winless in 3 socon games this year, and tonight knockoff 1st place team. Fine Job.

Questions Steve Behr asked/answered himself?
July 23rd seems like an eternity ago. Here is an archived article I just stumbled upon from the Watauga democrat: http://www2.wataugademocrat.com/Sports/ ... -id-012041 He probably has better clarity of those answers today or not?

Re: Tommy Bowman article 10-12-13
Listening to Satterfields post game comments after todays debacle, I think he has basically written off the season. He sounded like a high school coach that just got whipped, and oh well we'll get them next time rhetoric. jmo GO APPS!

Re: Shame on you AppNation!
You have a right to be upset about recent fan behavior. Unfortunately the play on the field has become a reflection of some of those in the stands. A sad but true reality on both ends, unfortunately. My advice to you would be (A) to find the nearest usher (redcoat) and point out those who are displa...

I personally know of three AD jobs that CC has applied for and was not chosen, since 2007. He obviously needs to get better recommendation referrals on his resume list. Those schools didn't want him and we can't get rid of him. bad catch 22 imo.

Pictures #17 & 18 are a pretty sad representation of our fans that left in the 4th quarter, considering that we eventually missed a game tying fg in closing seconds to force overtime. Just saying. Go Mountaineers!

;) te="Kgfish"] And for those who haven't seen Lawson play, he's not a great shooter but he'll likely be our most athletic player. If I'm not mistaken the whole purpose behind basketball is shooting the ball into the basket.[/quote] Shot 53% fg and 75% ft last season. Significantly better #'s...

Sounds like he's better than anyone we have returning or incoming recruits as far as our front line goes. Must have been homesick to be willing to sit a year. Probably would have started for Boilermakers next year.

Re: Your new FCS team
While we're talking about FCS, The Harvard Crimson recently published an interesting analysis of why schools in the Ivy League decline to play in the FCS playoffs. It's a good read, well-written and fair. Both the FCS and the Ivy League are missing opportunities for advancement. http://www.thecrims...

Re: Commish/German Cup points?
posted in Watauga democrat today "ASU wins Commissioner's Cup"
Appalachian State was recognized for winning the Commissioner's Cup, presented to the top overall men's athletics program. The Mountaineers also claimed the Germann Cup, which is awarded to the conference's top women's athletics program.
