Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Why would Joey leave? If Frank stays and he has another mega year, he will have every opportunity at the league. He may lose that if he leaves and doesn't transition as well as he did into App. App showed him loyalty and love when no one else did and he's now, seemingly, taken that Mountaineer spir...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Here is a very honest question. How were schools making money off of players Name, Image, or likeness? Specific examples would be helpful. Again not trying to be a smart a$$ just an honest question. Saw a lot of #14 jerseys in Kidd Brewer Saturday, that's one way. I think its more that the athletes...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
I heard thru a reliable source that JA and #90 DE are in the cross hairs of NIL money elsewhere..... Fact of the matter is that they can get to the NFL from App just as easily as they can elsewhere. I get it's not just about that but success isn't guaranteed. McLeod had a few decent games for Aubur...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Practically speaking, how does this work. Do coaches share a list of players that they are interested in and then companies with NIL money make offers or do coaches directly make financial offers based on the money they know they can access for new players? Technically speaking, the schools aren’t ...

Re: Congrats - Bowl Eligible
Flight to Orlando is fairly cheap (30k miles or $400). Might have to find a way to try and make that one… You can do it a lot less on Frontier or Spirit out of Charlotte. Currently from Charlotte, non stop roundtrip, Friday to Sunday, $63 dollars on Frontier. Just leave the wife at home and pack a ...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Coastal was able to hold onto Grayson McCall for three years of NIL and many of their talented players who could've left to go elsewhere. I'd hope App can do the same.

Re: Funderburk SBC DPotW
Congrats to Funderburk! Still amazed that Joey hasn't taken home a single weekly award despite leading the Sun Belt in TD passes with some big performances in big games. JMU's McCloud (who is having a good season) has won 3 of the past 4 weeks with our victory as the only week he didn't win. Oddly,...

Re: Jose. Best App passing qb in recent memory?
I doubt he would just force the 50/50 ball based on what we've seen. And if the coaches were seeing the intermediate routes open earlier, surely someone told him on the sideline when he called up to Ponce? No? I think the game plan was to take deep shots, even if you don't connect, to get the runni...

Re: Jose. Best App passing qb in recent memory?
I could be entirely wrong here but I think that on each play, there are multiple reads that Joey can make and decide where he wants to go with the ball. He seems to decide presnap who he is going to based on the look he gets. I think the reason we went with the intermediate play in the second half ...

Re: Jose. Best App passing qb in recent memory?
Thought I'd bring this thread back to life from after Gardner-Webb and UNC.
The answer is yes. Jose, er Joey, is officially, JOEY DIMES.
Give it up.

Re: Official Gem City prediction thread
Their #4 runs very well Is he as good as Gardner Webb RB? He's probably the third best back App has played, maybe 4th if you consider UNC's back-up. But App has played some top flight running backs so that's not a knock. One of ECU's starting safeties said that Nate Noel was the best running back t...

Re: Official Gem City prediction thread
Roll Neers ;)-26 Cowgirls- 23 Hughes kicks a game winner from 50+. (FWIW I'm not crazy about the "Roll Neers" but, if it draws more eyes and gets more fans engaged, I'm not in a tiff about it!) Go Apps, beat Wyo. Wyoming has a great kicker fwiw And I don't think you are overstating that. He has a b...

Re: Official Gem City prediction thread
I'll probably be wrong on this one but whatever: App State - 32 Wyoming - 16 Wyoming goes on to win the MWC giving the Sun Belt and App a premier win on the year, cementing the G5 argument. In my opinion, this is where we see how good the defense has really adjusted with Sloan. Thus far, in regulati...
