Karl Benson: "EKU and CCU have been contacted."

Karl Benson has now directly mentioned Eastern Kentucky and Coastal Carolina as possibly future members of the Sun Belt Conference. Who are you picking from the two? This add is to help balance the east-west divisions and to allow App a proper travel partner. http://www.theadvertiser.com/story/sport...

What's renovated next?

What do you think will be the next athletic venue to be renovated/rebuilt? Will it be KBS? Holmes Convocation Center? The softball or baseball field?

Also, what do you think should be next?

Re: Boone is falling behind! Everyone go vote 10 times

You guys need to look at this article. Chattanooga just sh*t all over our town. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/local/story/2015/may/22/secret-alliances-and-twitter-campaigns-wont-make-boone-better-outdoor-city-chattanooga/305824/ What a low blow. Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)

Latest from the N&O --- http://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/education/unc-scandal/article18880224.html Can someone refresh me on what SACS has done? I can appreciate what the NCAA does with self-reporting and such. But given how UNC-CH has been less than forthcoming and trying to downplay this s...

G5 Football Attendance

http://www.minerrush.com/2015/4/7/8148419/group-of-five-attendance-numbers-aac-mw-mac-sun-belt-cusa App State ranks 22nd among G5 schools, putting us ahead of Southern Miss, Texas State, Georgia Southern, Old Dominion, Western Kentucky and Charlotte. We're just short of attendance numbers exceeding...

2015 Top Adventure College

Appalachian State is, once again, in the running to be Blue Ridge Outdoors' Top Adventure College. If you don't remember, Appalachian won two years ago in 2013 and came in second (to Western......) last year. Let's help our school win again so everybody knows why we love it and the High Country so m...

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)

If UNC is punished in anyway similar to Syracuse, then they're in trouble. Syracuse deserved what the NCAA did to them, but UNC deserves worse. Unfortunately, ESPN, the ACC, and NCAA will all cover their precious child, the Tarheels. They don't want to see their paychecks cut by a dime if UNC's puni...

We give them the Lowes building and lot, on top of the soccer complex out there, in return for the old Watauga High property. Sounds fair to me.

Any word on when the announcement will be made? Is anybody hearing rumor of who the front runner is?

This is an incredibly important hire that we cannot afford to mess up.

Heading to Sugar Mt for some skiing this weekend. We had initially planned to come up tomorrow (though Sunday) and would have arrived by mid day tomorrow. Based on the weather forecast for Boone we are looking at leaving mid afternoon today. We have about a 4 hour drive to Sugar. Any locals on the ...

Re: Pay to Play

ULL appears to be clueless on what it is doing to itself and the Sun Belt (and G5). It's like they are not thinking ahead on how this will play out. I can't believe ULL is making this move, and even worse, that the Sun Belt and the rest of G5 agree not to engage in a bidding war they cannot win. P5...

Re: Pay to Play

App could offer pay-to-play... if it weren't for the fact that we are traveling to the Gulf Coast and Texas on a regular basis, with trips to Idaho and New Mexico still occurring in the fall. I am so grateful for the Sun Belt. They chose us after CUSA turned the other cheek for UNC-Charlotte, but re...

Re: 8 days until schedule is released.

I think that the schedule makers will put Southern in Boone on Nov 28. Conference Championship could be on the line. Southern plays Georgia the week before so it could be difficult for them to get up emotionally two weeks in a row. Can anyone fathom the excitement and anticipation if the Nov. 28 da...

Re: Offseason of Change in the Sun Belt?

I understand why JMU wants into CUSA or MAC from a financial and footprint perspective. Heck, we were the same way a few years ago, even going as far as to hearing Charlie publicly bash the Sun Belt. Yet here we are today. I firmly believe that there has to be a first step to reach your goal. No, I ...

Holmes Convocation Center wish list

Besides a winning team and fans, what is on your wish list for Holmes Convocation Centers?

For me, it'd be some cosmetic upgrades. The outside of the building looks great still, but it could use some work after all of the snow and salt it has been exposed to over the last decade.

What's on your KBS dream list?

If you could add one thing to or change one thing about KBS, what would it be?

This could range anywhere from the color of the endzones to the main entrance location. Shoot.
