Re: Fritzi to Interview

The newspaper down there has listed Satt as a candidate for the Tulane job. I'd be very interested to know if that's just a name they threw out that they would be interested in or if he might seriously consider interviewing down there. Satt's name has been thrown out as a "possible candidate" in se...

AppStateNews wrote:Anybody plan on doing the official tailgate? It's not a bad price for an open bar and lunch. Plus, it's held in the same location as all of the pregame festivities (mainly pep rallys)
Good chance I will. I'm traveling alone so I'll be looking to latch on with somebody, official or otherwise.

Re: Camellia Bowl

Shared this in another thread, but thought it might be worth posting here too - App now has info on lots of stuff going on in Montgomery:

Re: Fritzi to Interview

Wasn't Meacham erroneously reported to be the new North Texas coach also? Dude's name gets around. Not going to sweat this one too much re: Satt. Just doesn't seem like the kind of job you'd leave about any other FBS HC job for, much less your alma mater where you just got a new deal and have the pr...

Re: Sun Belt names all-conference teams.

Anybody else puzzled by the Trent Miles pick as coach of the year? That award should go to the coach's body of work for the entire season, not the last six games. Otherwise, Satterfield should have won it last year. COY is pretty much awarded with a handicap - it seems to always go to the coach who...

Re: Sun Belt names all-conference teams.

I'm guessing USA and Georgia State didn't have too many blowout wins where they pulled their starters after the third quarter. Wonder how different our guys' stats would look if they'd gone full-throttle for 60 minutes vs. Howard, ODU, Ga. State, ULM and Idaho.

Re: Sun Belt names all-conference teams.

What is Interdisciplinary Studies? Most all the stAte players have that as their majors. Basically a liberal arts major. App has it as well, it's at least partially under Watauga College and is actually very challenging there (or at least some of the classes are). But if it's where the football pla...

Re: Camellia Bowl

Since that moment, I've always had love for your football program. (Hell, I even moved you guys up to FBS in my NCAA Football 2008 video game and won you a National Championship!) Now this is a true sign of respect. It's been many years, but I believe I once led Ohio to the national title back in t...

Re: Sun Belt names all-conference teams.

South Alabama, which was 10th in the league in scoring offense, has more players on 1st team offense than App, who was 2nd in scoring and 1st in total offense. Georgia State (7th in scoring offense) with as many on 1st team offense as App and A-State combined (2nd and 1st, respectively). Nice recogn...

Re: Tickets yet?

I don't care so much about the lack of print-at-home or mail delivery service (though offering one or both would have been nice), but if the only method for delivery is will call, they need to greatly expand hours. I'd think a booth open all afternoon/evening Friday and then from early Saturday on w...

So for those of us arriving Friday evening, the only option is Saturday at the stadium? Hope they're opening early.

Cool story. Thomas and Hayes get to play two games in their home state as true freshmen (and see plenty of playing time). Pretty nice sales pitch for any future AL recruits.

Re: APP vs. Ohio

It's higher than I expected. I thought we'd be favored by maybe 3-4 (not that I'm any expert). Sagarin does rate us as an 8 point favorite. Guess it depends on how much you expect some of the sloppiness to carry over. Theoretically, I would think fumbling would be relatively easy to clean up, and ot...

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions

That triple option can go either way in bowl games. Sometimes a defense is really well prepared for it after all that prep time, and they shut it down. Other times, they never get ahold of it, and it shows that they just don't see anything like it the rest of the year. Throw in the mystery of what h...

Re: Camelia Bowl

Surprised to see a 5-7 team in the Cure. The AAC had enough eligible teams to fill that spot, but Tulsa instead went to the Independence Bowl to fill what was an SEC tie-in (I assume they didn't have enough eligible teams). I didn't think leagues would be able to pass over a primary tie-in to put a ...

Now this is the kind of tip I appreciate. Should I expect to be OK going 8-10 over, or is that danger territory?
