Re: Pay to Play
There is the answer. You did it yourself. Maybe the real solution is to only let those in who would qualify as students. That way they will not need summer school and can work in the summer. But I don't pretend that my situation applies to everyone else. I was fortunate to have supportive parents w...

I've noticed that Olawale Dada isn't on the roster any longer.

Re: Pay to Play
Well I know athletes and trainers who can't work and they work summer jobs. That's possible for some athletes and I did it myself, but it was previously mentioned that we are giving scholarships to players who probably wouldn't have been admitted without it and now we expect them to be able to take...

Re: Pay to Play
I'm interested to know how many, if any, of the commenters on this thread actually played college sports and knows first hand the time commitment it takes. I support the stipend, although I'm admittedly doubtful that it won't get abused, because it's virtually impossible for athletes to get a part t...

Re: Timeline for getting AD candidates
Hunter Yurachek was a competent and experienced candidate, but I'm actually happy that he withdrew his name. He's never stayed anywhere for very long' and wouldn't have stayed with us for longer than a cup of coffee. I mean *hello* he's only been at Houston for exactly 362 days--and he's already jo...

Re: ASU @ Louisiana-Monroe 3 PM EST Fant-Ewing Coliseum
It's also possible that Clarke and Goesling got scholarships because they were available and might give them up if we bring in new recruits. Wes Miller did something similar a few years ago at UNC.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Everything today with Miller and Morgan make me wonder even more about Trae Meadows though. If we knew Miller wasn't gonna sign for one reason or another then we had a scholarship available. Don't get me wrong, Morgan looks like a great athlete, I just have an admitted bias towards in state players ...

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Once again, our average recruit rating is higher this year than last year. An even better measure is who else has offered. Let's take a look at some of the teams we beat out for this class: NC State - 1 Cincinnati - 1 Ark St - 1 ECU - 3 Southern Miss - 3 ODU - 5 GS - 3 Middle Tenn - 3 Marshall - 2 ...

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a .7975 is a composite three star at 247 right? That would make Thomas, Taylor, D. Reed, A. Davis, Easter, and Johnson all within one point of being a three star recruit. I think it's safe to say that we'll see a double digit number of incoming freshman redshir...

Got a little overtime last week so $75 from me. I figure they can't take my diploma away so better here than my student loans anyway! #AlwaysAttack

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Right but my initial thought was this could be a backup plan in case David leaves. But I REALLY hope David stays. I'm not a football coach or analyst but his film looks really awesome. I have faith that David stays. My gut tells me he'll be special. I don't think he's going anywhere. I think it's a...

Listen, there's enough of this crap about all he's just a 17-year-old. Now, when I was 17 I did some dumb things but I also knew what I was doing. your word holds no value anymore to these kids and I believe that come straight from the parents. I can tell you my parents would've made sure that I ha...

New commit: OL Bo Alexander (6′ 5″ 285) of Dr Pepper High School in Winter Springs, FL has committed to App. I'll have more on this shortly but I'm moving his page to the Commits section. Don't get me wrong, I think Dr. Pepper is delicious and I would love to have attended a high school named after...

We will put the line at 2.5, over/under on how many more bowl games Appalachian State plays in over the next five years than Syracuse?
