Re: Gordon's Fisherman Logo and App-Ah-Lay-Chun
Given our recent football success, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to mispronounce our school's name. Sometimes I think it's intentional and condescending. Obviously you have traveled across our country very much. The vast majority of this country pronounces Appalachian the way you don't l...

BTW, Nate Woody was to coach ILB's at GSU. "Coach Woody will also coach inside linebackers and Wood will coach cornerbacks for the Panthers this Fall. Both coaches are currently on the road recruiting for GSU." https://247sports.com/college/georgia-state/Article/Georgia-State-Football-Nate-Woody-Add...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
And for those who say we are shooting too high, here is a quote from a University of Miami site about Dorsey. "Ken Dorsey joins the Bills after spending nearly six weeks as an offensive assistant with Appalachian State. Many Miami football fans were upset when the Hurricanes didn’t hire Dorsey. He w...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Those that keep acting like it is wrong to hire non-App men, well Jerry Moore was not an App Man when we hired him and is one of our best coaches ever.

Re: Construction Pics
It's actually pretty simple according to what's being said around campus. The demo bids were placed but only two companies bid on the contract. By NC law, for a formal construction bidding (which includes demolition), you have to have three or more for the first bid. You are required to go through ...

Re: Construction Pics
I thought north temp bleachers were not installed this season because Demo started Monday after SBC Championship game? I guess that was incorrect info.
They could have driven a big bulldozer through it and hauled debris off in dump trucks in a week.

Re: Another Top 25
I will never complain about a RB running in for a go ahead TD with a minute left in the game. You take the points if you can get them. That put huge pressure on other team. We had held their offense on previous two series. We gave up a big return and their players made BIG plays to score the tying T...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I suspect Eli will run the offense with a more heavy pass/rush ratio than we have previously seen under Satt & Co. Not saying Drink will abandon the run or anything but I suspect we will look a lot more like our game against PSU than Troy/ULL games last year. Therefore, he will use our players in sp...

We rout our opponent by one of the largest margins in this year’s bowl season and drop a spot. Wow!

I didn't realize conference play was the start of the season. Could someone remind me, why do we play out of conference games then? What has all these teams been doing playing games for the last month and a half?

Re: 2022 Schedule
Excuse me but it’s a bit hard for me to get too worried about our opponent 4 years from now. That is an eternity in college football world. And what happened in the game today between NCSU and A&M will have nothing to do with our game in ‘22.

Re: Saint Louis game debacle
I was totally onboard and optimistic Fox was a good hire at the time but unfortunately it has not worked. If you have not seen the progress you needed after 4 yrs (there was only marginal improvements) then an extension was not going to change anything. I thought the extension was a bad idea and hop...

Are you serious? We want to be a national brand now and therefore should broaden our opponents likewise.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 1:52 pmI'm not sure why we ever schedule outside NC boarder states.

Re: 2022 Schedule
The only way we get to top is by playing top 25 teams and win. We have to keep scheduling quality opponents while we continue building our program stronger year over year. Notre Dame got to CFP by playing top 25 opponents and winning. Our SBC opponents will have to be our weaker opponents in the fut...

Re: Sunday Morning QB ---
Hey, I looked a bit wise in my post saying that we need to give it a little time. I always believed we could do well in FBS if we made good decisions. Four years later and we are a premier G5 program and hopefully will continue to climb.

Defensive Performance Bar for new DC
Before we hire anybody for our new Defensive Coordinator I want to make sure everybody knows what our expectations are at App State and where the bar is set for anybody taking on this job going forward. 2018 App State Defensive Statistics for FBS (just pulled today so may or may not include all bowl...

Great show. Can you get this on a regular basis during offseason? Maybe monthly or so to keep the base informed?
