Re: Why not Steve Donahue?
Who said we're only looking at Brunt because he's black? His experience is not even remotely comparable to Capel's. Not all black coaches' resumes look alike. Obviously Brunt is your guy, but your argument is pretty weak. You are the one who said he was a young African American who could relate to ...

Oh man I can only imagine the off-base comments from the FCS faithful up here if (and when) we have 2 Midweek home games in a season

Seems they're not willing to sell out and are looking to establish regional rivalries for the future with formidable programs

Re: The End?
He probably came off that way because, well, they get basically nothing. So a free education to Northwestern which is one of the best schools in the US is nothing? What about free meals, free clothes, free publicity of their skills, free strength training, free medical care, free housing, academic ...

Re: The End?
He probably came off that way because, well, they get basically nothing. The athletes get nothing? Seriously? Wow that is a foolish statement. What do they get beau? Besides an "education" and that's a whole different topic in itself. They can get an education, should they so choose. Plus tutoring,...

"If they are employees of the school, shouldn't they have to pay taxes on that scholarship amount?"
In regard to that I have friends, who are not athletes, who have scholarship and financial aid that are both taxed. Both are viewed as income earned.

Re: New Bowls for SBC
Was goin through old boards and came across this one. Just wanna throw in a couple cents of knowledge. 1. If you honestly think and believe we should have stayed in FCS and it would have been good for the program you're out of your mind and obviously a bit out dated. You know how embarrassing it was...

Re: State of Appalachian athletics
ASUmointaineers comparison is apples to oranges. In sports AND business if you do a good job you're going to be retained past your expired contract. If you're not retained, not due to budget cuts or other off wall comparisons since obviously the program isn't having budget cuts, it is because your p...

Re: Jeff Capel on the David Glenn Show
You guys act like our basketball program has any credibility at all. Yes capel wasn't too successful but I'm gonna take Jeff Capel at his word that there is an iffy situation within the basketball program behind the scenes. And btw anyone who had Jeff Capel as a candidate here has a very inflated vi...

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Curious, as I'm new to App recruiting but what happened so that we don't have good relationships with HS coaches in the state? I've always heard something about Friday night games years ago which I know HS coaches wouldn't/shouldn't be happy about but I believe East Carolina use to have the same pro...

Re: Recruiting, 2014
I think it would be beneficial to all if our fans stopped tweeting meadors and eaton especially but all recruits as well. It's ridiculous, these are 17&18 year old kids trying to decide what's best for them and their future. Leave it to the coaches and sit back and enjoy watching recruits roll in. G...

If you're worried about being nice about GSUs recruits you're at the wrong message board I believe.
