Re: 2019 Football Schedule
I really hope we move past playing teams like Gardner Webb. That was ridiculous. If the ETSU game is still in doubt by halftime we will need some serious evaluation Alabama and Citadel were tied at halftime this year. Alabama sucks. Good point. Someone can always find that anomaly to make a point. ...

Re: Sports Nation: DEEP REWIND: Mich v App State
The story our guys told about how they switched up places on the line because of how prolific Lynch was for blocks gets lost in the mix sometimes. The little things that we did like that all game long were incredible. My wife had some type of ladies craft party that day and I sat in our office liste...

Watching the team jubilantly celebrating after the win puts things into perspective. They really want to compete and win. Us old alumni get carried away

Saturday is huge. A 3-6 conference record pushes us midway in the standings.

Re: AJ Howard
Some quick math says that approximately 2,600 or so guys have won a SB (53 man rosters times 50 games), allowing for multiple winners and some plus/minus. So based on that Howard could be the 4th? Not a horrible percentage all things considered

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I am one who thinks that coordinators get WAY too much credit (especially the ones who are tabbed geniuses) and often WAY too much criticism. Any coach can look great with talent. If a team is bereft of talent ain’t no coordinator gonna matter. We have a great thing going in Boone and like many have...

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
ETSU is the next game on the schedule. Not UNC. Please. Why is this the common message board mantra? No one on this board is a player (that we know of) and no matter what any person says on this board in January, it won't affect the outcome of either (ETSU or UNC) game. There are a great many on he...

Re: 2019 Football Schedule
UNC schedule just announced. They host the National Champion Tigers the week after we beat them. They also have a Thursday night game with Wake the week before. I hate that they get 10 days to prepare for us We might very well get 14 to prep for them. They have about 8 months to prepare for us. It’...

Re: Food,booze and Memories
Freshman year was the last of the “bars” in Blowing Rock. The town starting enforcing the 51% food sale law so that was that. Spent many a Friday afternoon at Holley’s Tavern. Tried to make sure class was over early enough on Friday in order to be able to secure a spot at the table.

Re: Good Recognition
I believe you rank a specific recruiting class 2 years or so later. Let’s say we bring in 15 guys. By the time that class are juniors or RS Sophomores how many are getting significant PT, start, etc? What is the team record? Way too many intangibles to consider. You rarely hear stories about P5 guys...

Re: Good Recognition
I’ve said this before and stick by it. There is simply magic on the mountain. Kids come for a visit and love the place. And apparently we just do things right. I’m a Panthers fan through and through but I appreciate the Patriots way. They don’t continue success simply because of Brady and Belicheck....

So what are the salaries of each coach? Wonder how much some of the big name guys are taking versus what they made at their previous jobs.

Re: Drink on Mac Attack
I hesitate to say this because inveriably someone will knee jerk react but personally I’m am one who is looking for more offense. When I say more I mean boat race opponents type offense. I mean like occasionally hanging 50 on a good opponent. I mean not simply running up the middle for the last quar...

Re: Top 25 Preseason Ranking for 2019?
I hate the P5 obsession but I guess it’s just a reality. I believe that next season will really let us know where we are as a program. For the first time in years we play P5 schools who are not peaking or legit top 10 schools. Both will be tough but if we are truly legit top 20 material we take both...

Re: My Take On Others: Nobody saw this coming, and if they did they’re lying
Great article. This quote is really heart-breaking: "App State played its bowl game on Dec. 15, which was probably forgotten by most voters." So close...love that he's got us at 20 and higher than NC State. Yep, and heartbreaking because it's true. The Dec 15th date hurt us. IMO, if the Sun Belt co...

Re: Top 25 ranking?
Now the fun debate. Who would we beat today who ranked above us? It sucks “ending up” 26 but look at it this way, we are considered in the top 20% of the beat teams in America! That is still strong. Can’t imagine us not beginning next year right there. Like someone said, win the first three and we a...
