Re: Throwback Thursday: 1970's quarterback
http://sugarcampfilms.com/a-full-service-production-company/ For those of us who remember the Brakefield years and witnessed the rise of Mountaineer Football, this might bring back some memories. Phil could sling it as a drop back passer but had a time with Coach's wishbone. Obviously he has done w...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
I don't believe it has anything to do with the move to the AAC. Outside of UCONN, Temple and Navy, it's essentially a redux of former CUSA teams that ECU has competed against in the past. I'd probably point to the fact that they've had 5 new programs move up to FBS within their footprint over the p...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
14 posts on App basketball on a ECU football thread. Its the Inception of threads. Interesting turn of events gentlemen. Perhaps it means we'll be rivals in hoops, too. Ah yes, the heated "Battle for 15th Place in the State of North Carolina" series. Yep, but at least we will have a rival with some...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
Yep, and we let Buzz get away and his name is profane on here to this day. Of course he actually had no intention of staying here long in either of his stints. Betcha, he (but not his wife) wishes he had stayed. What's he doing now, selling used cars or something? ;) This was recently addressed in ...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
I hope the heck we don't fire Satterfield in the unlikely event we happen to go 5-7 one year. But you never know. Heck we fired Houston Fancher when he was pretty successful and haven't recovered yet in hoops, save the one year Buzz Peterson took us to the dance with Houston's recruits. Fancher was...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
I wouldn't say it began when they fired him - that was just one year ago, after they went 5-7. But it certainly got worse this year. I have wondered the same thing about them joining the AAC. I'm not sure yet if they can't handle the competition or if, more likely, they just picked a bad time for t...

Good luck @Yes. Thanks for your financial support and your thoughtfulness. I'm sorry you're having to answer questions and receive criticism from a bunch of Athletic Tent Purchasing, Utilization, and Design Experts. Go App Before I send money to any charitable entity, I ask questions. Haven't criti...

Re: Athletic Sideline Treatment Tent
Has anyone checked to make sure that the sports medicine staff actually wants this? Not the ADs. The actual people who you think would use it. I can speak with very high certainty that non-football medical staffs will not use it. Soccer was specifically mentioned. The seasons occur at the same time...

Re: EZU and Ruffin
They were a good team with Ruffin, they were not without him. Don't think it had to do with the AAC, who there has a better program than ECU over time? Good point, but I might remind you that it has only been within the last decade or so that ECU's overall record has been above .500 since they move...

EZU and Ruffin
It crossed my mind that EZU's recent football down slide began partially when they fired Ruffin. It's always bad luck when you fire a former Mountaineer assistant coach. ;) Seriously, though, they seemed to screw the pooch when they moved to the American Conference. It's the "too big for their britc...

I bet most could guess one of the two college teams who will have the most players (5) in the Super Bowl? --- Alabama - Yep --- The other will be listed in the next post that way you guys can guess --- Now, as to the matter of conference superiority, here's how it all breaks down by conference. Re: Today's the day - APPvECU press conference
As we learned from our years playing WCU, it will only remain a rivalry if the games are competitive and the fans buy in and show up with intensity. Then you get a history going with thrilling finishes, memorable plays, and controversy, etc... I wish this series had started the past couple of seaso...
