I no longer have any interest in accuracy in games like this.

Re: The gold room nostalgia
I got there just after they renamed it--Blue Ridge Cafe, I think?--in 2000. Most people still called it the Gold Room, even if that's just something we heard from upperclassmen, and you could still get a steak.

While the development in the foreground is the most noticeable, it's also interesting to see how much reforestation there has been in the background.

Re: David Jackson
Is David also going to broadcast on WKBC radio. or only ESPN+? David is only doing the ESPN+ broadcasts. Adam Witten, joined this year by former player Noah Hannon as analyst, will be in the radio booth. From the release linked in the first post of this thread: With Adam Witten entering his sixth s...

Re: Recent realignment rumors/discussion
Our loyalty to the Sun Belt should last as long as it takes to get a phone call from another conference. Yes, to an extent, but only if that conference is the AAC or a P5. CUSA is a step down in almost every way at this point, as is the MAC, and the MWC obviously makes zero sense. The Sun Belt was ...

Re: Visiting Boone
Without getting mired in any "shoulds" or "shouldn'ts" here, I was in Boone last week and my experience echoes WASU 93's. Pre-mask announcement, the businesses we visited were mostly unmasked with a sprinkling of masks--maybe 75/25 unmasked. There did actually seem to be an ever-so-slight increase i...

Re: Big Attendance for ECU game
Were you able to get Miami tickets through our office? I called a while back and they weren’t available yet.
You have to go through BOA stadium. I called the ticket office on Wed to order Miami tickets. I was told that App has no more ECU tickets to sell.

Re: Marshall Coach Let Go
He won one conference championship in 11 years. One. I hope we never have to find out if that’s unacceptable at Appalachian. Sure, but you’ve got to admit it’s a weird year to let him go. They looked amazing until the end of November and then had an end-of-season slide. 7-0 and then 3 straight loss...

Re: Thinking about Liberty (and BYU)
The three of the four independent schools that have the best schedules—ND, BYU, and Liberty—also happen to have the backing of massive religious organizations. That can sure help. The fourth indy with a schedule worth a damn is Army—and once again, it helps to have the backing of a massive organizat...

Re: Game Day Thread! (including menu)
Coastal's win over IOWA State keeps getting better and better. There is a chance Iowa St. wins the Big 12. When we beat Coastal who beat Iowa State who won the big 12....we are going to look pretty good. Of course, back to my Marshall thread, Marshall will look even better if they are undefeated. M...

I think the uni combo is a little weird, tbh, but I am really loving the ultra-local, mountain-focused feel of the uni reveal videos this year. Half monster movie, half engagement photo shoot.

Re: Will we ever be okay again?
I think we’re all clear that this thread is an overreaction (to put it charitably), but it (accidentally) touches on an important point. Twenty-two months ago, an 11-2 Fresno State team, fresh off of a Mountain West championship win over Boise State, took on Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl. Now,...

Re: Mizzou over LSU
I saw some LSU fans on Reddit noting that it was Mizzou, not LSU, who had several players out for COVID/contact tracing. I googled it and saw that Mizzou was indeed missing 6-7 players, including some starters. I didn’t see anywhere that LSU was down any players. I knew this was going to be a big re...

Re: Fans next game
Wild that our next three games are on weekdays. I worry that the stands would be pretty spare even if we had zero restrictions. Moving forward, I hope we never have another schedule with a Wednesday-Wednesday-Thursday stretch. What difference does it make if it is mid-week when they only let a hand...

Re: Coaches Poll 9.27
No one said we should be ranked but we went from 12 points in others receiving votes to none, while winning. Coastal remains in the others receiving votes without playing. I'm just saying it points out the absurdity of the whole system. We beat Campbell. No one in the AP cares at all that we beat a...
