Howard prediction winner

Congratulations are in order for asucrutch23 for winning the prediction thread cookie for Week 1. This year I am going to try and use an incredibly uncomplicated formula to calculate the winner each week and keep track of the season long standings. The three criteria are the amount of points App sco...

Official IPTAY prediction thread

Occasionally, the results you hope for might not be what is best. As much as a lopsided win can be fun to celebrate it can lead to a false sense of security. It does not hurt to have to endure some adversity along the way. Unfortunately, that adversity can be found off the field. In a few short week...

Official Thurgood Marshall prediction thread

It has been a long fourteen years since Appalachian has hosted a football game in Boone on the opening weekend of the college football season. And in those fourteen years, much has changed on the mountain. Some things don't change however, and that is the excitement that builds each season for Mount...

Lot of friends have used Al-Ray and swear by it. I have used Idol's myself and have never been disappointed.

The Black & Gold Podcast

SInce we are all waiting for some news to come out of Dallas, TX this evening, we figured this was the perfect time to annouce something that APPARJ and I have been working on. The Black & Gold Podcast will be a weekly production where AJ and I talk about App sports and the Sun Belt. It will feature...

Re: Freshmen - who plays, who redshirts?

I think there is good possibility that Collin Reed redshirts. Daniel David will be a wait and see. Its possible he is the second string QB. Just depends on the situation. I'd like to think the one of the Taylor/Johnson lineman will redshirt and one will be used for depth. Possible both shirt. Michae...

A fedora boy has put down his e-cig and taken the time to chime in. http://thedailywit.blogspot.com/2015/08/appalachian-states-big-pile-of-bullshit.html If only the author knew that some of those Yosef Club members also paid tuition at some point and that "Yosef Club overpriced parking spaces" > "s...

Re: App State and Nike through 2022, Big News Coming Wednesd

I think it was really interesting that we renegotiated a solid two years before the current deal was up. Not sure who is responsible for starting the talks, but whichever side it was, it was good move overall.

Re: Ball resigns mid-term

Can some of you locals elaborate on if/why this matters? I know there's been some turmoil over the last few years so my curiosity spikes when I read this article. HIs faults were so many, it is hard to get started. Here is my biggest beef. Year before last, Boone had only spent 19 mil of its roughl...

Pretty terribly written article with bad info, but would definitely prefer the later kickoff times, fwiw.

Re: Kickoff for Howard: 3:30

The tailgater in me is hoping this is a trade off for what might happen for those Thursday games. I know classes wont be completely cancelled for the day, wasn't expecting them to be, either. Calling off classes after 2pm is my best guess/hope.

Re: Poll: How would you get your Bowl tickets?

Buying the tickets through App is the right thing to do. Perhaps that will be incorporated into Yosef points, much like season tickets bought are factored in.

Remember, we wont get a full cut of that 1+ million dollar payout, but only half of that, which is much more than spending to host FCS playoff games.

Eaves selected 2nd team All-SBC

http://sunbeltsports.org/news/2015/3/9/ ... 54837.aspx

I thought Eaves had an outside chance to make the first team, but, not to be. Eaves was only Mountaineer honored.
