Yep way off topic. But to the "who's the best" argument. There are two different questions
1) who's the best RB in App history? and
2) who's the best RB to play at App?
While the names on those lists may be the same, the order could vary greatly.

Re: THE GAME
Had anyone seen any of UAB's games? I just watched the highlights from FAU game. It was highlights and one sided but FAU was up 35-6 at half. UAB looked slow, very jv and linemen looked soft not fit. If App isn't ready to play it will be an all time upset for us. These guys did not beat a single te...

Quite honestly it sounds like appgrad's preferred candidate didn't get interviewed/selected so he's gonna pout instead of joining the App State party. Overall though this is about the biggest Slam dunk hire (as far as support from fans/alumni/current and former players) that I've seen, and that incl...

Re: Our Next Head Mountaineer
I would value his input and any suggestions he may provide as we just went through this last year. However, if he's on his way out, the actual decision should be made by a committee as mentioned above.

Re: App State players are speaking out on Twitter
I've never met Clark but his resume is strong and he is definitely an App guy. I feel like with Drink leaving after just one season we need to be careful not to create too much turbulence with our coaching staff. So yeah, do a super quick national search, which I suspect was already in motion becau...

Re: LT Conf Future
One thing to keep in mind is that just prior to when we joined the SBC had ONE bowl game. That's it. The conference was by far the worst G5 league and was taking any scraps that were available. Now the conference is clearly the 3rd best G5 conference and has 5 tie-ins. I believe I heard somewhere th...

Re: Who stays, who goes?
I would rephrase your comment from "the defense came around" to "the defensive coordinator finally came around" - I came around on Roof, but I promise you, Roof was not solely responsible for the turn around. There were a couple of “field generals” that were making adjustments and new calls on the ...

Buyouts are typically tied to compensation. Unless we pay a lot more, I doubt the buyout will increase.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 11:23 amWhoever it is we need to up the ante on our buyout clauses.

Re: App State players are speaking out on Twitter
I'm in on #Clark2020. He has the experience (including experience outside of Kidd-Brewer) that I believe a HC needs. He's an emotional leader but not too emotional (i.e. Elliot). But, he's also App through and through. The players rally around him. Most importantly I think he'd be a darn good coach....

Re: Outside Hire vs Hiring from Within
I'd like to see Coach Clark as HC. I agreed with looking outside after Satt, as I thought we were in danger of becoming too inbred with our coaching staff. However, with y'all I believe that stability is a major concern now and Shawn will provide that better than an someone with no direct ties to ou...

Not only that - but - the last thing a young up and coming coach wants to do is send the message that he's not interested in "moving up".BeauFoster wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:01 pmIt's good practice to continually interview, even if you aren't 100% sold on an opening. It keeps you fresh and makes you evaluate what you've done.

Re: Rivalry Week
If we played GS in rivalry week, we’d probably be playing on Thanksgiving night. On a somewhat unrelated note, I’m tired of having only a half week of preparation for an offense people say you need two weeks to prepare for. We need to schedule our open week, or at least a FCS tune-up, prior to that...

Re: Rivalry Week
My biggest issue is that we're annually forced to play an option team (that just happens to be our rival) on a short week. At least give us a bye week or play this game after our yearly Wednesday game.

Re: If no NY6 then where?
It would be great IF something were to work out and we could play an ACC or SEC team, but it seems that some of our fans are setting themselves up for disappointment with the attitudes towards our aligned bowls. I'm not sure why the NO Bowl would only be considered so bad (only half a dozen or so "...
