Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search
I’m actually more impressed with Kerns than some other candidates based on the head coaches that he has worked for, and that he has turned Presbyterian around in a very short time. Of course, there are other factors such as personality, charisma, etc. that would need to fit as well. I’m happy that w...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search
FWIW, Jim Fox was never mentioned on hoop dirt or any other source for the month or so leading up to his hire, until the day before it was official...and that was with a not near as savvy AD in charge. Of course, that could have been due to other candidates backing out.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search
Per HoopDirt: Early names at Appalachian State include Gardner-Webb head coach Tim Craft, Presbyterian head coach Dustin Kerns, and Campbell head coach Kevin McGeehan. Yikes. All of these are Big South coaches which is interesting. Tim Craft would be my vote of the three listed. I'm not entirely su...

I was under the impression that our never ending coach search threads were supposed to be about barbecue, fast food, and soda pop.

Kosmalski is probably a good candidate to replace McKillop when the time comes.

so, is McKillop pushing for another one of his cronies to take a job that his last one didn't succeed in?

Re: Fox fired
Lutz is a joke ya'll. Come on. We deserve better, but be realistic. This is a bottom half, maybe bottom two, Sun Belt job. That may sting but it's true. Sorry. Official Unofficial Short List: 1. Bart Lundy 2. Nate James 3. Jason Williford 4. Josh Schertz 5. Erik Martin nice list, but remove Nate Ja...

Why would Conroy be desirable?Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 9:09 pmSome of the big talkers are saying Andy Kennedy or Pitino to UNLV, do't know what all that is based on. Ed Conroy, formerly of Tulane and The Citadel is an assistant waiting on another head job.

Re: Fox fired
Just adding this to the discussion: https://twitter.com/brantgnr/status/1107057772473057285?s=21 I think Brant overrates Shaver a bit. He had a Fancher-esque record at W&M over a longer time. I’m sure Nate James would have many opportunities to coach at a higher level when he wants. Duke assistants...

Re: Fox fired
Considering our record the past five years, the fact that he's recruited many of our players could also be a good argument for not retaining Allison. That makes no sense whatsoever considering the talent has improved practically every year. But the record didn't improve. That's the first thing they...

Re: Fox fired
I think Coach Allison should get a shot. He recruited all of our players and has a great class coming in. He’s also from Lincoln County, played at Liberty, head recruiter at VMI for 9 seasons when they were rolling and setting national scoring records. He’s 42 years old and would definitely fit the...

The offense looked very Davidsonesque then though. Tons of hustle plays, hard cuts, constant movement. That’s what disturbs me the most. It’s as if our current players don’t have much buy in

My fault. Guess that’s why you shouldn’t watch videos in the dark at 0230. To me, the Black looked like maroon , and I assumed we where in white. It looked like a highlight reel of tech. Carry On... I don’t understand why we quit running set plays and tried to create off motion. We aren’t exactly D...

Re: Any thoughts on who the new head basketball coach might be bringing in as his assistants?
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I thought we had more of a system when Fox first arrived. These highlights are indicative of that. I’m not really sure what happened, but this seemingly much less talented team seemed to play hard and with purpose.

Re: MBB Senior Day: USA @ App State 2PM HCC & ESPN+
Without the Johnsons down low, #33 for USA had a field day. All he needed to do was get the ball in the post and he could back up Seacat and Wilson to the baseline and lay it in. Still, we were in it late. Down by two scores, USA had three straight one and ones and missed the front end. Yet we didn...

Caught part of a radio show last night where they were praising the coach at Presbyterian .Inherited a really poor program and has turned them around very quickly. They thought he should have been BigSouth COY. yep, Kerns has been mentioned several times on here. He is also in the Mike Young coachin...
