Re: G5 Over the Last 9 Years
Thanks for updating this information. It really is very telling when you can see the numbers compared to other schools. We are clearly the class of G5 and we seem to have come out of our slump very well and are positioned for continued success in the future. I really wonder how the naysayers view th...

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
Over the last 10 years or so of the the pandemic players who have transferred out of App how many landed in what might be perceived as an upgrade? How many who transferred out have seen increased playing time? Did the "stud" IMG QB end up anywhere? The only upgrade has been Jalen at Auburn, everybo...

Re: App had one of the worst run defenses
If we App fans think our own the most insufferably negative people ever, please look at any Ohio State fan blog/message board this week. Or Alabama. Or USC. And on and on. Trust me, App fans on this board and for the most part online are not the exception. People here just act the fool and run off ...

Re: Deeper than Hate ESPN Write-up
I got this response back from ESPN today. Doubt it goes anywhere but again, the plagiarism is just too much. Hello, Thank you for contacting ESPN Fan Support. I understand your concern. We value the comments and opinions of our fans. Your comments in reference to Ryan McGee's article on Appalachian...

Re: Other SB schools losing players to Transfer Portal
The ULL QB is being reported to have received $750k+ NIL offer, ULL had $400k to try to keep him. Just impossible to keep a decent player these days for most G5 programs. Anyone have knowledge of the ins and outs of these NIL deals. For example are they performance based, only apply as long as you ...

Re: Transfer rule change.
ALL professional sports have long ago concluded that some parity in spending/resources as opposed to large differences in spending/resources is in the best interest of the product and survival of the league. College Football hasn’t figured that out yet. That's because technically college football i...

Re: Transfer rule change.
So basically any college athlete can transfer every year if they wish? It’s like any other student. Now hopefully schools uphold their academic requirements for transfer. I’m surprised no one has tried to go after eligibility years recently. If I can be in undergrad for 7 years….well why can’t an a...

Re: NCAA Proposing New College Sub-division
College football is going to get a lot more expensive. Watching G5 bowls makes me realize that the sport would be fine, and maybe even better, if those teams went off and did their own thing. The new division could institute similar rules but do so in a fair and equitable way. Seeing a playoff that...

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
It also shows in the portal situation for us at the moment. Graduating players allowed to play in the bowl shows loyalty and respect while players sticking around like Joey shows that there is more to our program than others. It speaks to the quality of the people at all levels. Go App! I give it 5...

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
I worry that Joey may be perceived as somewhat of a system guy considering that the past two years that Ponce has been our OC both of his qbs have set new passing yard records and of course Joey also set the App TD record. System guys always get discounted.

Re: Freshman Admission rates 2023 across conferences
So if I read that correctly, we let in 83.1% of our applicants. Not exactly the difficult admissions standards that many like to hype. Heck, we are behind coastal and I thought they were safety schools. Southern Miss should just be embarrassed by these numbers, 98.8% acceptance rate, makes me wonder...

Re: Bowl announcements for other schools
Seems like a bunch of FSU fans want to continue to argue they are deserving when they know they can't compete against Georgia and the a$$ whopping would legitimize the committee's choice. Absolutely absurd suggestions. Play the game and take your lumps like everyone else who played Georgia these pa...

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
Second Sun Belt team to lose a bowl game in overtime to a C-USA team this year. Pretty pathetic really, especially considering they had a 28-0 lead at one point. Sun Belt currently 1-3 in bowls with App being the lone winner.

Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?
I honestly liked the more plays per game. It has been frustrating at times over the years of our intentional slow pace of play. I think slow pace lead to stalled drives sometimes too. A little more tempo at appropriate times this year helped us. Want more! They mentioned during the bowl game broadc...

Re: Sun Belt coaching carousel
With all the crazy moves in the Sun Belt coaching carousel every year, I think our old pal Shawn Elliot may just be the most senior Sun Belt head coach, with Clark not far behind. Crazy to think about that.

This game got chippy and was sloppy from the get go, but a win is a win is a win and I will take it anyway we get it. Good to go into the off season with another bowl win.
