Re: ECU vs APP
If it's a Labor Day weekend game, many students will drive home anyway and a lot of those students are from the Mecklenburg area. It's not like 15-20 years ago where you have poor college students. There's a difference between poor and thrifty.

Re: 2017 Season Ticket Question
Gillin told me that the conversion rate of half-season ticket holders to full season ticket holders was way more than those who just dropped them altogether, so he's not going back to half-season ticket packages. He's been very vocal against them.

It's four games. 2 in Greenville, 1 in Charlotte, 1 in Boone.

I believe 2019 is something else.
App will be the home team in Charlotte, but not lose a Boone home game that year.

Re: Nice AppState season recap by underdog dynasty
The former editor and several others, including me, left UDD and SBNation in August to start a new website forgotten5.com. I'm not writing there as much anymore because of my new job, but they're solid. The managing editor SBNation hired as a replacement, and the one who wrote this article, is an un...

Not at the moment but things can change tomorrow.EastHallApp wrote:Do they even have a spot to land if they wanted to move up? Sun Belt no longer needs them for a title game and no one else wanted them.
And that's not meant to be cryptic, just noting that nothing is permanent.

Re: Men's Soccer Update: Scheduling & Recruiting
There's a lot to like in these comments. The CASL Shootout is the top youth tournament in NC and perhaps the region, but he's looking in Florida where a lot of foreign players to go academies, so there's a good mix. He was a top recruiter as an assistant. I was puzzled by the 2016 schedule myself an...

Re: Yikes. It's Capel on TV
Buzz announced Capel and Kachmarik as his assistants at his UNCW presser, sure that App would hire McMahon. That was on a Friday. The news of Capel leaked Monday afternoon, 72 hours later. Fancher gets slack, but when he took over, everything crumbled because Houston instilled discipline and the pro...

Re: 2017 full slate of opponents
From what I've seen on Sun Belt OOC, in week three, between Savannah State and Wake Forest, the only other teams on out schedule that have that opening are Texas State and Georgia Southern. I seriously doubt they'll put us playing GaSo in mid-September right before Wake, especially since ESPN wants ...

I don't think we'll end up ranked but it doesn't hurt in the slightest to beat that drum. We have to make noise when we can, even if it ruffles some feathers on Tobacco Road.

Re: We lost again. Evidently no one even noticed
The seven players who played most of the minutes were three freshmen, three sophomores and one freshmen against the Sun Belt favorite. Two leading scorers were freshmen. Played better than Saturday, but played a much better opponent. UTA won the rebounding battle and Tyrell had a bad game with one p...

Re: 2019 Schedule?
2 and 1's are different depending on the scenario. We'd have to get a sweetheart deal with BoaA to make as much money as a Boone home game. When the city of Charlotte paid part of the last BoA Stadium upgrades, they got a number of free uses of the stadium per year. I don't know if they use them all...

Re: MBB: RPI #236 ASU at RPI #304 Tx State 5:30 PM Strahan Coliseum
Ladies just took a 66-64 win on Madi Story's bucket with 3.9 seconds left. Huge win for the ladies, who have been one of the worst Sun Belt road teams in the last two years.

Re: Next season's Wake game
As much as I hate to admit it, the hold on Meadors on Cox's injury run vs Miami was legit. Ron "He was giving him the business" Cherry was the head official. Usually the refs in a home and home are supplied by the away team, so unless App's series with Wake has different language in the contract, I ...

Re: North End Zone Project
All of this matches what I've heard as well ... millennial campus, public-private partnership (P3). One of the best things about P3's is that private projects, for some reason, seem to be run more efficiently and a bit closer to "on time". :D This also allows for mixed-use facilities on campus with...
