Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Is there room on their schedule for us? http://www.goccusports.com/genrel/103112aab.html http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/coas/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2012-13/schedule/schedule.pdf No I don't see how we play Coastal Carolina, they already have 7 non-conference games on the schedule and will pla...

Re: Elon Game
A win at Elon puts 1.5 games behind them for the North Division lead. They have a tough final 6 games. Home against App, WCU, Davidson and UNCG and on the road next weekend against UTC and Samford.
This is as big a game as the APPS have had all season to this point.

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Presbyterian will not be coming to Boone. So only 1 true possibility left from the Big South left, and that is Charleston Southern. I hope we can bring in at least one decent team but truly doubt that will happen at this point. Just no D-2 teams please!!!!

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
One of the other boards mentioned that we might have Coastal making a return engagement to The Rock which would leave one home game opening for an OOC. Surely another Big South, MEAC or team would like to experience The Rock. Charleston Southern, VMI, or even Gardner Webb would benefit from the tri...

Re: App State leads FCS in football attendance
Plus there is more to do in the Carolinas and Southeast during the holidays. What all is there to do outside of Fargo? That is literally all they have. ;) Fargo has a metro area of 200,000+ people. And they're a few hours from the Twin Cities. I'm sure there's plenty to do during the holidays. App ...

Re: App State leads FCS in football attendance
If App St is the national power they think they are then their fans should EXPECT home playoff games and be able to schedule December home games around that. It would be less of an issue if they could move Christmas to February. Plus there is more to do in the Carolinas and Southeast during t...

Re: Just a matter of time
While I would love to hear that we will have an invite by 2/28, I have my doubts. I DO think that we have options (and are trying to create them), and I DO think we are exploring all of them. I have heard this from multiple sources as well. I don't think we are Sunbelt or bust like GSU, but in the ...

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Got confirmation from the athletic department that Nov 16 is @ Wofford. With Wofford being scheduled at that point in the season, it is almost a certainty we will play 12 games. The only way we would not is to have a double bye in the month of September. We will play Elon either 9/7, 9/14, or 9/21 ...

Re: 2013 Preview
As always a great write up Big C. I had heard briefly about Zupcic being redshirted and it is a good decision because the injury is still lingering. Jaylin will play a solid CF and Troutman/Burris flanking him is a good trio out there. Dobson I have seen and heard is a player that Coach Jones will t...

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Great job 78 and Firemoose!! You two did a tremendous job and now I am ready for football season. My Top 6: 1. Taylor Lamb (Always good to get a solid QB) Plus is a coach's son which is a bonus. 2. George Vinson (Very good linebacker and was a good get) Rutgers came hard after him late. 3. Parker Co...

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
As much as I would like to attend a sixth home game, I think the players need a bye week to rest up in the midst of a tough schedule, recuperate from injuries, visit their families, and maybe just a rare few days of normal college life during the season, not to mention allowing the staff to have a c...

Re: Montana Trip
My dad and I went out there in 2009. We stayed at the Doubletree, which is about 1/2 a mile from Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Nice walk and not to far to go into downtown Missoula. Another good hotel is the Holiday Inn. I went in 2000 and 2009 and it is definitely worth the trip if you can make it sw...

Re: Frank Ponce to be new QB's coach
Another interesting hire. I take it he's got the title OC. An FBS position coach usually doesnt leave to be a position coach at an FCS school. In any case, looks like we're spending the $ to get who we want. Glass, I am pretty sure he was fired along with Cristobal and Co late last month. Still a g...

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Also remember that only the top 8 teams get a first round bye this year in the playoffs. Playoffs expand to 24 teams this year.
11 games may not be a bad idea but I would still like to see 12 with a bye week late in September.

Re: Appalachian State Football Schedule 2013 (so far)
Playing a D2 team accomplishes nothing for us. It does not count for the playoffs and hurt our SOS. I would much rather play a D1 FCS non-scholarship program. I would like to see 12 games but I can understand 11 as well. I would look at seeing a Big South or MEAC opponent in Boone. I would not expec...

Huge game for the Apps tomorrow versus Davidson. The guys really need to come out on all cylinders and play a full 40 minute game to have a legitimate chance at beating the Wildcats. We must continue to defend as well as we have the past few games. Also we have to make our free throws at a better ra...
