Re: Why Is College Football Attendance Tanking?
FCS games don't really kill our attendance. The biggest killers of our attendance are, in no particular order - Weather - ESPN+ - Weeknight games - Conference opponents our fanbase largely isn't familiar with To me, reducing FCS games is more about strength of schedule, although I think attendance ...

Re: Why Is College Football Attendance Tanking?
I think our future OOC schedule looks challenging enough... Replace the Gardner-Webbs and Elons on our schedule with Memphis or UCF -- the increased SOS makes a huge difference in achieving program goals: a NY6 bowl and being nationally ranked. If we're going to boost attendance, putting a quality ...

Re: Why Is College Football Attendance Tanking?
Which is why we have to stop playing FCS teams. Play good G5 or P5 games and just have 5 home games in a year sometimes. There will be years where you have 6 or 7 home games and vice versa. I too would like to see fewer FCS games on future schedules. Not only is it a less interesting game, but it h...

Re: Should the Sun Belt look North?
I don't get the desire to add south florida schools. I thought the mantra was to reduce the mileage between schools. The F_U's are nearly equidistant with LaLa & Monroe. Give me the Bama schools, Troy/UAB - even South Bama before the F_U's. I was about to say I love what was proposed except I don't...

Re: Should the Sun Belt look North?
I like it. Personally I’d take either UAB or Troy and leave JMU in FCS, but otherwise this is the ideal. I only wonder if the Alabama schools (Troy/UAB/S.Alabama) would prefer to stay with each other in a Gulf Coast centric conference, which is why JMU is there. https://imgur.com/bfKDge2 If Troy di...

Re: NEZ work today
One of the best stadiums in the G5 is Colorado State's. While we certainly don't need their capacity at this point, there are a few things I'd love to see us emulate at some point: 1. The way the empty seats spell RAMS. It would be cool to have a black and gold version that says APP and STATE on ea...

Re: Congrats Louisiana!
The Cajuns were one of the top G5 teams this season. I hope they get some attention from the AP voters early next season and help the Sun Belt's strength of schedule. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Re: NEZ work today
Go check out the Murphy Center at ECU. Someone please correct me if i have this wrong but my understanding is the NEZ will have glass paneling on the ground level pretty similar to the Murphy Center. I don’t think you’re going to see seats on the ground level, would make that part of the project pr...

Re: NEZ work today
Nope. Any demand we have for seating is for luxury boxes and club seats only. We need to triple season ticket holders before we ever think about adding more endzone single game or GA seating. I disagree with your notion that we must add more season ticketholders before we even THINK about potential...

Re: NEZ work today
Wouldn't they move the band back to that area? Problem solved I'd think. This was my thought as well. We had temporary bleachers all the way to the field level for 3-4 seasons prior to the NEZ construction. They were filled regularly with the band and students. I hope the reason they're holding off...

Re: Brand ourselves.....AMERICA'S TEAM THE APPALACHIAN STATE MOUNTAINEERS.
As a fanbase, we can build goodwill for Appalachian by staying classy -- that includes on Twitter and message boards. Nobody likes a person who makes everything about themselves. I see App fans taking over threads on other forums (see: CSNbbs) that have nothing to do with us. That is not the way I w...

New Yosef Club Incentives
Ideas for new Yosef Club rewards are often mentioned in passing. Here are a few ideas I'd like to see: » Access to an exclusive Yosef Club fan store (think retro logos and apparel not available elsewhere) » First dibs on game-used and surplus helmets/uniforms » Bowl and Conference Championship rings...

Re: Would you be happy with 8-4, if?
I am not blown away by the AAC's bowl tie ins. Here are the AAC's tie-ins (with their last 3 opponents) Birmingham Bowl vs. BC, Wake, Texas Tech Military Bowl vs. UNC, VT, UVA Gasparillia Bowl vs. Marshall, Marshall, FIU Boca Raton Bowl vs. FAU, UAB, FAU Cure Bowl vs. Georgia Southern, ULL, Georgia ...

Re: Would you be happy with 8-4, if?
Temple went 8-4 in the AAC this year.
They got smashed by UNC in the Military Bowl. They will finish the season outside the Top 25.
I would not be happy with the season Temple just had.

Re: Field Upgrades
Since we apparently have a big waiting list for club seats, I'd love to see these crappy looking black boxes gone, and nice club suites added along the entire top of the east stands.

Re: Appalachian Unpopular Opinions
This is BY FAR the tradition that needs to come back loud and proud. I don’t think the students know it and maybe the last ten years of students. Any student want to correct me Or reason graduate? No students or recent graduates say "Give 'Em Hell." Here's an unpopular opinion (and possibly the rea...

Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?
The sad truth is that the AAC follows a market-size approach. Look at the schools in the AAC. Virtually all are centrally located in major cities. Considering the AAC already has a presence in NC with ECU, I'd wager the American is more keen on other markets. As others have previously said: I’d love...

Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?
That is true but you can't do it from the Belt with a loss...you have to be unblemished. If you're in the AAC then you can have a bad night, a la Halloween, and still, make it happen. You have no margin of error in the SB. App will need to be perfect in conference , yes. The jury is still out on if...
