Re: Who is next?

Would not any current players have to sit out a year? Redshirts maybe not? Seems like I remember that a FCS player could go to an FBS school and play the coming year and vice versa, but not sure where I heard that. Our players would have to sit out to go there. I would be shocked if any player who ...

Re: Stephon Brown dismissed

lol he never got a p5 offer He never got a P5 offer because he declined visits from ACC schools who came in during his Senior year after he had committed to App. He honored his commitment to a degree that is uncommon these days. Holton Ahlers was firmly committed to ECU and was still picking up big...

Re: MTSU buying tix for students.

Maybe Satt will with his Xmas bonus :D LOL. Since he is still a Mountaineer 100% let's test that and see if he buys tickets and shows up at the game with an App hat on to cheer us from sideline or stands. His team will not be going bowling so he could easily come for the game and use it as a time t...

Re: Let’s Move On!

The Satterfield era is in the rearview mirror. Let’s dont forget the remaining coaches and players are preparing for the New Orleans Bowl. We have been spoiled by the Moore/Satterfield Era. Now that APP is at the G5 FBS level we have to realize That the coaching carrousel will be the NEW NORM with ...

Re: Let’s Move On!

I’m flying to New Orleans for the New Orleans Bowl that we FINALLY have an opportunity to play in. We have a chance to finish with two loses and a ranking. I’m stoked. There’s a chance we know our next coach by the time we’re slamming beaker shots out of Cajun breasts on Bourbon Street. That would ...

Re: Ledford

I don't buy that he was interviewed either. If he was coming off a 9-3 season where he won a playoff game, then maybe. The problem is they took a step back this year. I think next year is do or die for his job most likely.

Re: The changes begin at App State, and the next chapter looms

I love Ethan’s articles. But I take exception to the comment about Satt building so much success. Satt took over a winning program. Louisville will see if he is truly an architect. Satt didn’t destroy a good thing, but I’m not ready to give him too much credit for building. Jerry was the architect ...

Re: Ledford

Let me see if I have this straight. The athletic department announces a national search for our next head FB coach and hires a professional search firm to screen candidates, prepare profiles, do background checks and run analytics to "project" probability of success for each candidate in a head coa...

Re: Ledford

I live in Mitchell County and I seemed to remember that Scott was an Assistant Coach here for at least one year. Mitchell High is where his wife Beth went to school and as is the case with most high schools, a PE teacher is going to help coach. I found this link which indicated that he did in fact ...

Re: Ledford

Speculation? Or..... Brown is intriguing as that “high risk-high reward” hire due to his fiery personality and the growing trend to go with “young guns”. I think he clearly took our defense up a notch, but I don’t know if this merits a promotion to HC. I don’t see Ivey or Clark hanging around if th...

Horton ain’t happening My guess is that Gillin has Ivey, Ledford, and Bryan Brown as his top 3. I expect him to lean towards someone who worked for Satterfield. Speculation? Or..... He is already in Louisville and already said goodbye to the team. I think if there was a possibility of him ge...

Re: Ledford

How much direct recruiting would the HC so? Don’t the assistants do the keg work and he has final say? Usually the HC signs off on the offers. At Clemson their DC has 100% say on that side of the ball but you have to develop that trust with your HC. Scott wanted to meet the kids in person and sign ...

Re: Josh Gattis

If our next coach does well in the first year it will tell us absolutely nothing. It is very common for a coach to come into a very good team and do well. It is what he does after that will tell us something. As far as Gattis no way $ Just like SS not doing well in the beginning and a lot on this b...

Re: Ledford

I guess he wouldn’t be bad, as long as he stays away from OL recruiting. You mean the guy that coached Kendall Lamm, Colby Gossett and Parker Collins? Yeah… Keep him away from that side of the ball! 🙄 Dude is a mastermind as far as teaching and designing OL blocking. I did a little digging on his c...

Re: Who is next?

I think he’s done with us except Ivey. Ivey will be interesting because he supposedly wants to stay unless demoted or Satt gives him a big pay day. Satt has already offered him and coach Jones a big pay day Then I would imagine he goes. I would not blame those two for doing that. Both love App but ...

Re: Josh Gattis

I don't know the two men personally but from the results, Satt was a better coach than Moore. Doesn't mean I like Moore less just the way it is. Our next coach will likely be a better coach than Satt and I'll still be just as thankful for what Satt did. A shakeup of the program every 6 to 8 years i...
