Re: Sunday Morning QB ---
I really don't get all of these giddy "Hey you people that were upset that we were losing to FCS teams and couldn't kick an extra point can now eat crow" comments. I think we can all agree that we have a proud football tradition and dedicated fan base. There is absolutely nothing wrong, and I will g...

Where to watch in Wilmington
Hate when people schedule a wedding for football season. Does anyone know a place showing the game down in Wilmington? Or at least a bar that has ESPN 3? Thanks in advance.

Re: Vegas line for Ga State
I am worried a bit. We get one lopsided win (against a bad team) and we forget the problems we were having a few short weeks ago. One of our most glaring problems this season has been our secondary and pass defense. Until last week our corners were not matching up well with anyone's receivers and ou...

YC Front Page Content
Let me start by saying I don't mean to bash anyone who posts the original content for the Cabin. Likewise, I do not hold myself out to be the grammar police. However, I hope that the editors can start proofing their articles before slapping them on the front page. The last several weeks they have be...

Re: Kicking Game
I remember GSU being in the same boat 3 years ago when they couldn't make a kick. They even had open tryouts during the year to try to find someone. It cost them dearly in the semi-finals that year. Satterfield tried to bring in a scholarship kicker last year, but then he flipped his commitment lat...

Re: Kicking Game
Really do we just have one guy that can kick field goals? Did we not have a contingency plan in case Matics got hurt? Having a competent kicker is a high school level stuff. I really dont want to have to watch us go for it on 4th and 4 inside the 20 for the whole season. SS wanted to talk about Lamb...

Kicking Game
I know that we have all beat this topic to death but I really am just stunned. We are an FBS football program. Hell even coaches at FCS programs know going into a season whether they have a kicker on the roster that can get the job done. We showed the world in only the 4th game of the season that we...

Re: Listen to today's Around the Mountain-9-24-14
Also, I don't understand why we're in such a rush to fill the schedule. If it's true that we need to establish ourselves and then we'll start scheduling better teams, then why not hold a spot for 2016/17 instead of adding UMass? And even more so, why add Wyoming to essentially fill a 2018/2021 date...

Re: Sumler
The knock on hm at Oregon was that he had bricks for hands. I dont know if that still holds true. Could explain why no effort has been put into developing him into a deep threat.

Re: Listen to today's Around the Mountain-9-24-14
[quote="AppState89"]After thinking about it over night. I still don't like the fact we are playing UMASS, instead of Wake or ECU. But, these are just the growing pains we will have for a while since we just moved to FBS. It will be easier to get mid major teams to come to Boone, than a P5 team, even...

Re: WRAL Article on App Football
There 's also alot of Non-App people in the Triangle that think State is a perennial contender to compete for a National Title. Living in Raleigh you get used to the ridiculous homers that write for the N&O or "report" for WRAL. To place State's 1998 upset in the same conversation with what we did a...

Re: When do tailgate lots open on Saturday?
Just got an email from Appalachian State Athletics saying the lots open at 11am. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346883003.803321.jpg I got that email as well. Kind of disappointing. At alot of schools (FBS) people come in and start tailgating on Wednesday. The lots should at least open at 9. If you want t...

Re: Roll Call for ASU-ECU
Unfortunately I won't be making the trip this year either. You would think your friends (especially when both the bride and groom went to App) would know better than to plan a wedding for opening weekend. Give 'em hell for me, hate I'm going to miss it. Thank God for smart phones.
