surprised and glad to see some here knew him.
One of the things I talked about with my roommate today was how much we learned from so many of our professors and how we took it for granted.
Be thankful for the things we've taken for granted. Thanks to all those who chose to teach.

Professor Carl Tyrie has passed away.
My degree was in communication arts. Heard this news today and called my old roommate. Hadn't talked to him in 15 years or so. So glad I did. We both had multiple classes with him. I don't know if any of you guys had a class with Tyrie, but looking back it's amazing how much I learned from him and s...

Re: NJCAA moves fall sports to spring
Why not both? if we're down to conference play only, let's play 5 games in October and November, and 5 more in March and April. We avoid the worst of the holidays when the flu season erupts, and hopefully by March we have a vaccine. (desperately thinking of some way to keep some football in fall so ...

Re: Is the inevitable being postponed?
I would not be shocked if the end result is the G5s are forced to form their own subdivision and the split that has always been there but we try to ignore it is made solid. was reading the same thing from the ECU board yesterday, including this quote: "I think what is likely to happen is we will pl...

Re: Have been in the fan transfer portal for three months
there's something to be said about a school that doesn't get the best players, doesn't pay their athletes secretly, but thrives as a program through multiple coaches. The App St football program has been built the right way, and wins the right way. It's a hell of a lot of fun to watch the good guys ...

Re: Wisconsin game in jeopardy
[/quote] It would be pretty easy to argue that the athletes should be given an extra year of eligibility. Then the question becomes does the scholarship limit temporarily go up to allow for recruiting to not be affected (as much for schools as for the rising HS seniors). The transfer portal could be...

Re: Wisconsin game in jeopardy
hard to imagine college football this spring. Unless we get a vaccine at the end of the year, we might not even have spring ball. I guess there's a chance we can stop the spread enough by spring to at least have a shorted season, conference play only I suppose. Please don't go away till fall 2021......

Re: Tar Heels recruiting
If they don't find a way to start winning we should seriously re-evaluate our future games. Likely to find ourselves in a no-win position where beating them is expected but a loss could hurt our NY6 or playoff potential. I mean, we really need to get ranked opponents for out OOC games. they're alre...

the guy that invented Pepsi was born in Chinquapin NC. I like to think I'm the second most famous person in the world from Chinquapin. That title doesn't come with any prizes however.

Re: Spring 2021 Football?
this is interesting. I think there is a chance that only conference games will be played this year in all sports. But if we do roll on up to Wisconsin, I wonder how many of their best players may not play to protect their NFL careers?

Mack was always a recruiter. He'll be bringing some talent up the mountain in a couple of years.

Re: Spring 2021 Football?
I've been counting on fall football to pull me through the summer after losing March Madness and the Masters. But I'm starting to feel like more and more of you...good chance it won't happen. I have gotten back into Nascar and non-majors golf again, and have been really enjoying it. Also enjoyed fol...
