Re: Peach bowl 2016

A 10-2 record for the Apps in '16 is sorta like trying to hit a small, moving target that's 200 yards away. We've got a bunch of holes to fill on both sides of the line and on special teams. Even if we have redshirts that are ready to step in; they'll do so without ever having played a snap of colle...

Re: MSOC Head Coach Search

Pretty sure that 52 applicants is a tiny number for a division one program. Any update on the search? That "52 count" was the total of inquiries after the vacancy announcement had been posted for only 11 days. That's not too shabby at the less-than-two-weeks mark. The only thing that matters is the...

Re: Could you ever see Boone hosting a bowl game?

No need to bring this up until after the Hickory Regional Airport (HKY) develops into a *real* entity for two or three major commercial carriers to buy in to providing daily arrival and departure passenger services. That could be a long wait with Charlotte, Asheville, Tri-Cities and Greenville-Spart...

Re: App @ UNC Roll Call

Hope our kids are out of their funk from Sat. afternoon. They, for whatever reason, just were not ready to play. Their most serious dysfunction on Sat. involved poor shooting and poor rebounding. The 49ers outrebounded us 43-25. That's bloody awful. Embarrassing. Hopefully they'll get it together an...

Re: App @ UNC Roll Call

We were in the Texas game all night; a day or two after the Longhorns beat the RoyBoys on a shot at the buzzer. So UNCheat can be beaten. Our guys didn't shoot well, didn't rebound and didn't show any fight what-so-ever against a bad Charlotte team. Unless Fox can get them better motivated, I fully ...

Re: Thank you for a great year

There ya go. Good post! Tremendous year for Scott and our Apps. Eleven wins and a bowl victory. Marvelous success; all things considered. Memorable in every way. A large majority of FBS programs would kill for a season like we've just experienced.

Montgomery Advertiser: Matics Kick Wins Classic

Josh Moon, Montgomery Advertiser 12:19 a.m. CST December 20, 2015 Momentum in football is an odd thing. It can turn a team that gained just 4 yards in a quarter into an unstoppable machine on the verge of a blowout. And just as quickly, it can turn on a dime, take it all away and hand a struggling ...

Re: App vs Charlotte

I think the unfortunate (but hardly unpredictable) conflict with the bowl game is definitely hurting interest from our side. I'm just looking for progress from App this year. That wasn't evident in the early games, but it sounds like we've at least been more competitive recently, though obviously t...

Re: Oline and QB are real problems

I will say wide receiver is a question also. I question how this team/coaches respond to games like this 0-3. You are unbelievable! Have you seen this team's winning percentage for this season? .846 Comprende, señor? Put that together with all of the major injuries suffered by our OLine, WRs, LBs, ...

40 -33 at the half. UNCC owns the boards...and is shooting 52% from the field and 75% from 3-pt. range.

Fox needs a miracle--like better play from his team.

36-30 bad guys. Ogbueze still perfect... now at 20 pts. 3:58 to play. '9ers out-rebounding Apps by 10.

6-1 junior guard Braxton Ogbueze, a UFlorida transfer, has 17 of the '9ers points. He's perfect so far.
