Re: Belk Bowl?
^^ No, obviously I am not saying the bowls are on the same level. ^ “Cities don’t matter to most fans.” I think they matter to a lot of the ones who are attending the bowl. And I bet they matter to the players who are spending a week there too. I know one of Gillin’s main concerns when we went back...

Re: Coaching carousel
Let's be clear. I love Drink but if we do lose him at some point I have total confidence that Doug Gillin will make another great hire and our program will continue on the same trajectory. Our program was not based on Satt, and it's not based on Drink...it's bigger than any one man.

Re: Coaching carousel
The thing about Drink is that he has those 3 years experience as a P5 OC in which he turned that offense around. P5s value P5 experience. He also has pretty much been a winner every where he's been involved. I hope we have him 3-4 more years and that he leaves us in a strong position, which I suspe...

Re: Boise or Memphis?
Maybe UNC trouncing NC State and getting bowl eligible will help our positioning with the committee as far as SOS.

Re: Boise or Memphis?
I think Hawaii can take Boise, so that'd def help but the AAC champion will probably get the nod unless something weird happens...the AAC chips just didn't fall the way we needed them to this year. Next year may be our year... Boise hung 59 on Hawai’i earlier this year. True, but from what I've see...

Re: Article on Old Mountain Jug History
I hated that article so much. It does no good and Hardin's digressions take away from his points. Every article he's written about App this season has included backhanded compliments at best. This is the worst. He could have written about WCU's marching band being in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade ...

Re: Article on Old Mountain Jug History
Just to give some more context the jug was my grandfather's. Roby is my dad and Dee my mom. I went with dad to dig the jug out of Pop's shed and I helped mom paint it. The actual idea for the jug came about during one of our annual New Year's Eve parties we used to have that a lot of App admins/fri...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
The problem with the way the committee has us positioned is that whoever wins the AAC will probably end up with a top 20 win in the AAC championship game. So, even if that champion has two losses, that top 20 win will probably carry more weight in their eyes than our two P5 wins. Still not impossibl...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
Wow, that’s a crazy rule about the Orange Bowl. Thanks for the link. The interesting/arrogant thing was that they didn't anticipate that if the ACC champion made the 4 team playoff that there wouldn't be another ranked ACC team to go to the bowl. I posted another article not long ago, link is below...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
Ranking VT is also important for the ACC assuming Clemson goes to the CFP. The next highest ranked team goes to the Orange Bowl in that situation. Idk what happens if no team is ranked I don’t know for sure, but I’d guess it works the same as if there’s no G5 team ranked, which is to say the CFP co...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
We need Boise to lose one more, preferably the MWC championship game to remove the MWC completely from Cotton Bowl consideration. Then a two loss AAC champion assuming we win out of course. What the committee does in that scenario is the real question. Hopefully they will have that to deal with. Lon...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
It’a true that some of our fans bitch too much about being behind 3- and 4-loss teams with no regard to SoS. To hear some people talk, an 8-3 team is basically the Washington Generals of CFB. I have zero complaint being behind teams like Auburn and Iowa. They haven’t lost any games we wouldn’t have...

Re: Latest CFP Rankings...7 PM ESPN
App in at 25 behind Va tech and ISU. No doubt we would beat VT by 10+, havent watched ISU enough. Don't know if we'd beat them by 10+, but it's certainly possible. Looking at our one common opponent, UNC, it took them six overtimes at home to beat them...it took us zero overtimes to beat them on th...
