I would like to see Oregon State and South Carolina play each other just so the announcer could say, "The Gamecocks are penetrating deep into Beaver territory."
Or if Wyoming could somehow play Florida State?

"The Cowboys are penetrating deep into Seminole territory".

Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?

Considering half the ads shown during football telecasts are hawking booze, you'd think someone would step up and make this happen. Someone would have to have a brand of bourbon just called bourbon. Thank you for that gem, Eric. If someone has the capital and good enough lawyers, I'm sure it could ...

Re: Coastal Coach LOL?

What’s the problem here? People in swim suits at the beach? That’s offensive? Have we regressed 100 years to the bikini being illegal? I have been to beaches, in NC and SC recently, where I've seen some women covered head to toe with only an eye slit to see out of. So perhaps we are regressing?

Re: NCAA Proposing New College Sub-division

College football is going to get a lot more expensive. Watching G5 bowls makes me realize that the sport would be fine, and maybe even better, if those teams went off and did their own thing. The new division could institute similar rules but do so in a fair and equitable way. Seeing a playoff that...

Re: Game Balls: Cure Bowl

If for some horrible reason Joey could not or would not have played yesterday who would have been the App QB? Is Burger looking to get a medical redshirt? Imagine our offense in that slop with one of our backup guys who hasn't played at all. They would have stacked the box and forced us to throw. M...

Re: NCAA Proposing New College Sub-division

Looking back on things, I enjoyed the FCS era more and more as each day passes. Obviously App was lucky to have some entertaining athletes, but the playoffs and lack of beauracracy made it much more enjoyable. Let me clarify before it gets misinterpreted we 100% made the right move when we went FBS...

RG3 because he seemed genuinely interested in the game when he saw how Joey was throwing. He still has NFL connections, calls games, and is generally well respected in NFL circles. His comments about "this being a PSA to NFL scouts watching" wasn't a comment in jest and may help Joey as well as help...

Re: 2024 Football Looking Ahead

Conference play is between Louisiana and Arkansas State as well. With the East and having Louisiana and Arkansas State, even a one or two loss App State team should get the CFP bid over an equal loss AAC team and less loss C-USA team. Is Ark St and UL confirmed? How did I miss this? GO APPS!! That'...

Re: Cute bow vs Miami (OH)

Has it been a day? Time goes fast. You may not recall 2014, when App started 2-5. You may not remember 2004 where the back end of that season led to an unprecedented (up until that time) run of success. I'm seeing a lot of parallels to 2017 as well, where the team had amazing chemistry but dropped ...

Re: Cignetti

I dislike JMU and their overzealous fan base as much as everyone else, but we need them to be strong. Or maybe not. If App can get through Clemson, the East can be as weak as it wants to be next year, if you believe the committee believes in "just winning". We want the SBC East to be strong, we don...

Re: Brief ESPN mention

Two SBC mentions? While the rest of the conference is having their worst seasons in years? So he should not include us and JMU when we’ve got off to a good start?? We can’t control the other conference members anymore now than they could then when we were the anchor. Not sure how that was the takea...

Re: Other SB schools losing players to Transfer Portal

Just saw Marshall QB Cam Fancher has hit the portal. Every situation is different, but this is a mediocre QB that will likely be given a chance to start next year. If he's looking to transfer down and get a better education somewhere I get it, but players like this aren't moving "up" the food chain...
