Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks
I think they thought they were a lock after beating Duke and then proceed to lay a couple of eggs. The thing is, the first two were on the road, where they've been consistently bad all year. After losing two in a row, no way to use complacency as an excuse last night. Everyone knew they couldn't af...

Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks
To peak interest in the final 2 weeks of college basketball, I have compiled a list of "teams to watch" in the hopes of the possibility of the SunBelt getting 2 bids into the NCAA Tourney. To state the obvious, these two teams are App & JMU and will need to meet in Conference Tourney for best possib...

Re: App MBB vs Coastal, Saturday, Jan. 20, 4:30 p.m. ET, year two thousand and twenty four, Cure Bowl celebration game,
Watched the game on ESPN+. Can't remember last time I saw a conference game with the walk-ons in there. I love watching Gregory play. Such a complete basketball player. Hope to be up for 1 home game if not 2. Just super difficult to commit the family for the trip more than once a month. Maybe if Boo...

Re: App MBB vs Georgia State, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 (MMXXIV), 5 days until Year of the Wood Dragon, 6:30 p.m. ET, ESP
Couple thoughts: App is at a disadvantage in that so much of the alumni is 2+ hour drive away when looking at Charlotte/Gboro/Raleigh crowd. This is extremely difficult for a weeknight game, especially for the working family as someone has stated above. And there isn't a solution to this unless we a...

Re: Down Go The Heels - Yet again
The Acc is bad. UNC had been overrated & glad Moo U took an L too. UNC fans have already moved on to basketball season as to them football is the tailgate to their real fandom. However, this next series with state, (and a game vs Wake too I think) if huge for our recognition as the dominate football...

Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?
I'm sorry guys but I still just don't understand the continual jabs at the OL - didn't we have 3 + a TE on the top two all-conference teams voted by the coaches? - And the 2 OT from last season were both All-Conf and both were in NFL camps. No, we didn't line up and blow people off the line (could ...

Re: Bowl Season
At least Georgia State will help the SB ... I would argue it's been an embarrassing showing so far.
If we truly are the better G5 conference, our #8 team matched with (other G5) Conference #4 team should be an even match up, if not advantage us. That is, if the SB is as good as we claim to be.

Re: SBC Championship Game at Troy discussion
Any good football coach that believes in his team, believes that his guys can go get 1 yard when it matters most. If a coach doesn't believe that, then the team is already beat. If everyone does their job, you get at least a yard. With that being said, doesn't mean you have to run inside zone or wed...

Re: SBC Championship Game at Troy discussion
Troy's coach did it in the same two years we were recruiting???? Hence why getting Greenhalgh was so key. So next year Greenhalgh will have us as strong as Troy ? Or will we still be overpowered as we have been recently? He will help ... a long offseason with graduations, coaching changes, transfer...

Re: SBC Championship Game at Troy discussion
I'm more concerned with Dline. The change in base scheme was good but our d is still soft in the middle. That killed us last night and came close to killing us in other games that we won. We've been very successful in the past with an undersized fast defense. What helps keep that undersized defense...

Re: SBC Championship Game at Troy discussion
I agree but we have been hunting for stud lineman for years and ...... UL and Troy seem to have found them?? I think this is where the change of the S&C staff last offseason will have the biggest effective. It takes more than 1 offseason for the full effect of the S&C. It took a few years to see th...

We don't have to win one every year???? Yes we do... Thats the point of playing the games.... To win one every year! Now we may not win one each year but that's the whole goal.... Even the Coach says that. What do yo do when you buy a lottery ticket and don't win? Just curious Don't think anyone bu...

Re: SBC Championship Game at Troy discussion
Point is, we don't have to win one every year to be considered a successful program. The poster asked when were we going to adapt to win a SunBelt Championship. I replied we had won 4.
