Re: ECU vs APP
Which really means more...having a G5 beside your name, or selling thousands more season tickets, raising millions more athletic dollars and having a stadium which can seat twice as many fans? Some of our fans need to do a reality check. ECU has a 40-year head start on us, and that advantage can't ...

Re: ECU vs APP
I am saying we should not take an uneven deal with another G5 school, especially when they have done even deals with other G5 schools. That's it. All those other words are yours, not mine. I understand the words were mine. But I was seeking was clarification on your reasoning as to why we shouldn't...

Re: ECU vs APP
I am saying that ECU on the schedule for 4 years, no matter what incarnation of scheduling, is more appealing to our fans than home and homes with Wyoming, Akron, UNCC, ODU, or UMASS. I get a lot of what you are saying, but would you really be happier with four games @ ECU over the other home and h...

Re: ECU vs APP
The only reason people are saying "H and H or nothing" is a misplaced sense of pride. We will get the chance to play a team that we had a historic rivalry with, and a program that, geographically, is predisposed to once again be one. We know our fans will travel down there. Both Greenville and Char...

Re: ECU vs APP
Aweful just aweful if this comes true. How is this awful? A FBS team from the west playing an FBS team from the east, and both teams are in the state of NC. I have wanted this game for years, and the two in Greenville is the price of playing an AAC team or any FBS team for that matter. The game in ...

Re: Expansion Carousel Starting Back Up
The ole pirates are lobbying hard. http://eastcarolina.247sports.com/Bolt/Compher-ECU-deserves-to-be-in-Big-XII-46359139 Huge travel costs for non revenue sports but I guess they are having to go to TX and OK already anyway. Wont ever happen for them and I do feel bad. Worked so hard to get that Big...

Re: CALLING ALL TRIANGLE ALUMNI - '16 Viewing Parties
I liked Fox and the Hound because it was close to my house but the fact that they didn't have ESPN3 like others have pointed out is clearly a deal breaker. I agree with Sammy's being practically on State's campus. It seems like the sports bars are already "claimed." High Park (the old Profiles)in 5 ...

Re: RE: Re: Expansion Carousel Starting Back Up
I'll take an uneducated guess and say they add BYU, Cincinnati and stop at 12. Then the AAC adds Marshall. No clue what CUSA would do then. If what Yosef 10 says is correct I wouldn't be surprised to see Nebraska come back into the fold. Texas really is the thorn in everyone's side here and if they...

Yeah I think everyone would be surprised. I think the real question is going to be whether they go 2 or 4 teams.

Re: Expansion Carousel Starting Back Up
Neither one of those conferences as they stand now are very appealing to me. MAC has good teams but the travel would kill us. CUSA has about the same number of good teams that we do in the Belt. My actual greatest fear is that a couple of CUSA teams get plucked to fill a gap somewhere and they in tu...

Expansion Carousel Starting Back Up
Big 12 announced yesterday that they are beginning to explore expansion. Considering adding either 2 or 4 teams. This game of dominos seems to have no end. Wonder what, if any, impact its going to have on our Mountaineers. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/17108512/big-12-begin-explorin...

Re: Miami game at 12 pm on ESPN or ESPN 2
I mean I like black endzones too, but I cant believe we are still complaining about this, what? 4 years after the fact? We certainly need stuff to complain about on this board but you have to admit this line of lamentation is a little tired. At least we have the Block A at midfield and got rid of th...

Re: Miami game at 12 pm on ESPN or ESPN 2
This is good exposure. However, I must say it is a big let down. Was hopeful for a long day of tailgating and and enjoying atmosphere all day. The Boone PD and Athletic dept better be on their P's & Q's... Lots of folks coming to town and a short window to get them into the parking lots and into st...

Man, was hoping for a later start time to really squeeze the most out of tailgate. Least we got to keep a Saturday time slot though.

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
We just aren't there yet as a fan base. Weather sucks at times in Boone more than most college towns. So why spend money to travel to Boone and watch App State play Idaho in close to freezing temperatures, when you can download the Watch ESPN app and even watch the game when your wife drags your as...

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
Paid the upped Yosef price to remain in 211, but in my opinion its the best seat in the house so I cannot complain too much. I like others, hope to see a little less aluminum than the past few years. Always more fun when the place is rocking.

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
This is going to take a while. Our fan base knew the SoCon well. They knew who was good, understood the rivalries and enjoyed watching us stomp the bad teams. Now we are in a conference with some very good teams our fans probably understand and some very bad teams they couldn't care less about. Who...
