State is , once again, trying to get out of their contractual commitment to play football in Boone , by the way.
Heard rumors of that a couple years ago, game is next year, what are they offering in return?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

I attack statements, not individuals. You don’t defend coaches, that’s just not true. I defend coaches all the time, including Clark at times.

Glad we agree that Kerns is the best coach we’ve had.

Looking forward to who he can land.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

It’s odd that someone who rushes everytime to the defense of one coach that was struggling on the field is reminding us that a coach that just won the conference for the first time in decades isn’t perfect (which everyone has acknowledged). Kerns is the best basketball coach we’ve had during the 30+...

Blue Hose pipeline worked for the men.
How can a hose have a pipeline? Would it not be a hoseline instead?
So many puns available, but I shall refrain from that slippery noodle.

Re: 2024 Roster Updates

Are there positions G5 programs should no longer recruit out of HS or should we only allocate 2/3rds of the available scholarships to HS players going forward. For a period of time it seems the HS recruits outside of the top few hundred may get squeezed.

Re: Kerns agrees to new contract

Off topic - Imagine a world in which a coach holds out for more money and pays a portion of the team's NIL money. We've seen that with assistants at other schools, why not players in this wild west era.

I could see Burns also bring a tough matchup for Edey. Burns will have posted, turned, driven to the basket and scored before Edey has even turned around.
His draft stock will be even lower if that occurs.

Re: 2024 Roster Updates

Most aspects of coaching at the FBS level are difficult, there are only 130 jobs available and you are competing against the best in your field. Every fall the results are in the open for everyone to see. Our program has been one of the best the first decade of our FBS journey and 2024 should be ano...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Going to be interested to track the guys that don't land anywhere across the basketball landscape. I felt in football some used the portal to gracefully exit football all together. In basketball I think the vast majority of these guys believe they are going to be playing basketball next year. Realit...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Spillers has narrowed down to 4 schools. Rumors are that Spillers had been hearing from Wake for a few weeks, well before we played them. Kerns knew it and I am sure he was upset with the Wake Forest coach. I wonder how much money Wake Forest offered him. https://x.com/336Edits/status/1774489441517...

Re: March Madness

I never ever agree with any suggestion that the best college football team could ever beat the worst NFL team because even that bad NFL team has a roster of the top college players. That being said I'm not sure that this UConn team couldn't beat the Hornets or Pistons. They are loaded. You should s...

Denver shows up to parties late and snicker bars the pool.

Re: Report Card - Dustin Kerns

Until the recent exodus of players I’d say the majority here were very concerned about losing him and hopeful for an extension and doubling of pay. The toughness, commitment in the offseason strength program and overall level of play has improved under Kerns. He inherited a product that for not to w...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Kerns is the best on the court coach we’ve had since Buzz.

The recent exodus is troubling of course and can’t help his stock with prospective schools.
