Re: QB after 2020

Zac Thomas....I think he’s 25 and 3 as our starter....nuff said!!!!! Agreed, and actually, since he was knocked out of the Ga Southern game on our first series he's actually 25 and 2 as our primary QB. AND those 2 losses are an OT loss at a Top 10 P5 and a weather-impacted 3 point loss. The kid is ...

Re: App @ WF Friday Sept 11

I've already started the pre-game trash talking with my Wake Forest associates...they're standing strong and won't admit it but you can tell they're worried... :)

Re: Imagine losing a bowl game

I was in a noisy room with people watching the game and haven't had a chance to watch the game again on replay, but shouldn't that first touchdown by UAB been reviewed? Seems like he wasn't in control of the ball when he hit the ground...

Re: NOLA Roll Call

Seeing all of the pictures on Facebook of Mountaineers crawling all over New Orleans (which I was part of last year), makes me even more bummed about this family wedding I have to go to today keeping me away from being there. Weddings are dumb...

His home is off the 1st exit off 421W, West of I 77.
actually, he sold off most of his memorabilia and ended up selling that house at auction about six or seven years ago?
Yep, he and Lisa moved to Charlotte about 7 years ago, with a short stint in Waxhaw thrown in there.

Re: Love "admissions season"

I loved it every year except last year when one of my coworkers came up to me telling me about how terrible App was and how dangerous it was and she wouldn't allow her daughter to go there. The amount of restraint I had to have that day is unparalleled to this day. LOL. In my 40 years since showing...

Re: RIP Junior Johnson

Heard many stories from Junior, but my favorite was how the revenue agents finally caught him on moonshine charges. They tried to catch him running 'shine but they could never catch him even with setting up road blocks. They had to stake out the family still and catch him on foot when he was tending...

Re: New recruits

Changing the subject here, sort of, but what other needs might we have? We didn't have an running backs in this class and not many receivers, hopefully we'll get the one guy in Feb. How many open scholarships do we have? Any potential transfers look interesting? I'm assuming Clark & Co will re-asse...

I emailed DG last year after the bowl game and requested we consider the Endzone from last year's New Orleans Bowl.

Good move...I loved that in New Orleans last year.

Re: Men's Basketball Ranked 2nd Highest in Sun Belt According to NET Rankings

Another opponent we've lost to, UNC-G, is 9 - 3 and two of their three losses were because of half-court shots made at the buzzer by both Montana St and NC State. Their only other loss was on the road to #3 Kansas by 14 points.

Re: Field Upgrades

I personally like "App State," it's updated and cannot be confused with anyone else while at the same time paying homage to our history and tradition of using the "App" or "Apps" nickname. It compares to "Penn State" vs Pennsylvania State University.

Re: New recruits

Recruiting rankings are very subjective, but there is some truth to it. You can have somewhat of an idea who's going to be stacked and who's not. G5 it tends to be more of a crapshoot, but I like to follow it and keep up with the depth and the way they're building out the roster. What do you guys t...

I wonder if in the end zone that says "Appalachian," if it'll be changed to "App State?" Since App State is the new branding initiative..

Re: Appalachian Unpopular Opinions

The whole "sandpaper their asses" line was fun and awesome, but I don't want it to become any kind of slogan going forward as it'll become cringe worthy. Agree 1,000%. We're better than that and it's also too much like the low-class, tacky GATA thing Ga Southern has. Looks like we're trying to copy...

Re: THE GAME

With continual success I always worry about complacency setting in. I remember a player, can't recall who but I think back in the FCS days, telling his teammates that "the other team's not gonna just lay down because we've got Appalachian on our jersey!" The reality is just the opposite...we're goin...
