Two more #1 seeds were eliminated from their conference tournament (Sam Houston and Tennessee), bringing the total to 12 thus far.
Down goes Quinnipiac.
And Norfolk State.

I am hearing from a VERY reliable source not connected to App that after last night in the ACC tournament we will likely play Wake Forest in Winston first round.
I would anticipate that pairing.

Re: NIT

Including the 12 teams from the power six conferences, I count 24 teams with better NET than we have. It would seem our main competition will come from teams that are bigger names that have NET in our neighborhood. We sit at 72, someone like Memphis at 76 or Maryland at 81, could get the nod before ...

Re: NIT

Ok instead of starting a new topic, the NCAA selection committee, about an hour ago selected 19 schools that were voted into the field on first ballot and 42 teams and all regular season champs were put into the “under consideration” category. Now the committee will go through a series of ballots u...

Bickerstaff and Edwards should transfer to App. You know the saying, “if you can’t beat them, join them”
Apparently JMU doesn’t need to beat us. Doubt they’d trade places right now.

Re: NIT

Unfortunately, it appears that may well be the case… that we will not host. I read one article today, that had us in the last four for the NIT, which would not be hosting. Much of the new changes that the NCAA has made, we’ll just have to see how it plays out. It certainly looks like this years NIT...

If NIT calls, how about hosting vs VA Tech?
Given the way I read the new NIT guidelines, they might have a better chance of hosting us.

I was curious when exactly they started to rise. The fact it did rise and with all we did is why I hope we can retain Kerns. I would love to see what we would do next year with most of the team back along with the coaches and some of these newcomers they have signed/committed. Really hope Huntley c...

Next Saturday’s practice, the last one of the spring is open to spectators as part of the TIGMA NIL event.
I understand there are opportunities to interact with players post practice and that there are some nice giveaways.

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

Just based on the crowds I saw on TV I would have guessed the order was JMU, App and then ODU and Marshall just behind us. I would be curious to see the numbers on the entire season. In all games we fall to 5th behind So Miss. Sorry, didn't see the previous post before I posted. Keep in mind outsid...

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

True. JMU and App are about the 2 best home attendance this year for their basketball teams. Marshall and ODU draw well. And let’s not kid ourselves, we are in no position to judge attendance of other schools in basketball. A couple good home gates doesn’t erase years of poor attendance numbers. Th...

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

I did a quick and dirty calculation and Atlanta is pretty much the geographic center of the Sun Belt Conference. Based on that alone, it seems the logical place to put the tournament. Birmingham is more central than Atlanta. But it doesn't really matter. Sun Belt schools don't really attend their o...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

While Texas State is 8-8 and have lost like 5 of their last 6, the SOS is 115 with 5 Quad 1 opponents. Our SOS is 227 with only one Quad 1 game and we know how that turned out. Their opponents are a combined 126-106 vs. ours at 88-104. This weekend should give us a good idea of where we stand.

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

Personally, I think ATL is best option..so many flight options. You do not have to play in Hawks arena or ga state. There are other arenas in that city Need to make it easy as possible for flights. Not sure Gville has as many. I checked on flights from BWI to Pensacola in case I flew down for final...

I would say the success of our basketball team this year was due in part to NIL money.
