Re: National coach of the year nominee? C’mon man!

This is still good for our program as we're still being talked about by the elites in the college football world. Satt getting national attention as ACC coach of the year and now this award with Drink...the more our program is talked about the better. I hope he gets it...anything that keeps us on th...

Re: Doug Gillin?

DG has been very silent. Now that Drink is officially gone, if don't hear something from him in the 24 hours, the concern should be very real. Not necessarily, he is in the middle of a coaching search We hope. A statement should be made by your AD within 24 hours of your HC taking another job. Tick...

Re: ESPN 150 greatest coaches

One of the things that amazes me about Coach Moore was his willingness to scrap everything he knew and had done offensively in football and at a fairly "advanced" age made a bold decision and switched to the Spread. He then focused on getting players with speed instead of size that fit that scheme a...

Man those things leave Krispy Kreme in the DUST (powdered sugar type dust)
We were all wearing black for the game and we got that white sugar dust all over us. We were the black & gold & white that day. :D

Re: Our Next Head Mountaineer

I'm good with Clark based on his resume, player support, and obvious App ties but we must seriously complete our due diligence in a professional and methodical manner...so can someone post a picture of him in a visor please?!??

Re: Thank you Drink

I am thankful for the season that we've had and Drink was definitely a major part of that. We're not going to get any mileage out of bad-mouthing him at this point. I'd rather have an ally at an SEC school singing the praises of our program. It's better to have friends than enemies. These kinds of t...

Re: Doug Gillin?

Yes. DGs name has been on a few desks this year. Reality is, funding is a hurdle here. There is a reason I, along with others, have been pushing the Yosef Club heavy this year. We have a lot of projects going on, and that costs a lot of money, and there is bound to be shortfalls. I love DG and woul...

Re: App State players are speaking out on Twitter

I've never met Clark but his resume is strong and he is definitely an App guy. I feel like with Drink leaving after just one season we need to be careful not to create too much turbulence with our coaching staff. So yeah, do a super quick national search, which I suspect was already in motion becaus...

Re: Players and coaches

Agree totally! It amazes me that in just 5 years as a fully transitioned FBS team we've won 4 SBC championships, have a shot at winning our 5th straight bowl game and have been in the NY6 discussion. Top 25 ranking for a significant time of the season and a legit shot at being ranked for the final p...

Re: Drink Interviews Update

Hope you’re right and they are locked in, but as it relates to the guy doing the game plan (and directly calling the plays) - I’m just considering if it’s reasonably possible to be focused 100% on the immediate task. Granted, most of us aren’t football coaches - but if you’ve ever taken a new job, ...

Re: "Neutral Field" Refresher

The Sun Belt conference owns the game so they make the rules and we're not going to convince them otherwise. The conference, of course, structures things so that there's not a favorite even though one team has a home-field advantage. There is still an obvious huge advantage to being the host site. I...

I always pull for Mountaineers when they leave the mountain...unless they're opposing us on a field or court...way to go Satt! There are few people who have contributed as much as Satt has in building our football program that we're so damn proud of. I am thankful to him for that and only wish him t...

Re: ULL discussion

Now probably isn’t the time to do it since we haven’t yet, but I would really like to see some 2 back sets. Think about Evans and Raykwon in the backfield, where 1 motions to the slot, Or Evans and Williams jr In at same time. Seems like that would be tough to defend. Not every down, but 4-5 times ...

Re: ULL discussion

Last time our starting field position was horrible. That coupled with those 2 or 3 near interceptions early on, one of which would've been an easy return for a TD, resulted in Drink going very conservative. I think we'll see more of what we saw against Troy. As for ULL's approach, I have no stinkin'...
