Re: The Carolina Way!

My daughter just graduated from UNC - Major in Chemistry - Biochem track and minor in Biology. I asked her why she never found any of those classes that you don't have to attend. Don't hate on us for her going to UNC, my son is in Grad School at App and my wife and I both graduated from App. I neve...

Asheville Tailgate Practice

Asheville folks, our church does a cool event on the second Sunday of each month at French Broad Brewery (yes, brewery). It's called Pub Sing. We hang around and knock back a pint or two and enjoy singing or listening to Gospel music on banjo, mandolin, guitar, etc. During the summer months we'll be...

Re: Deandre Presley

Dre was one of the most unselfish team players ever to play at App. Moved from QB to DB, special teams, whatever was asked of him. I hope he gets a real chance at Carolina and succeeds. A real quality young man and great representative of App. Amen to that! He was always very polite in the few time...

Re: The Carolina Way!

No shooting the messenger from me. While I doubt that Rashad's comments are completely factual, the essence of situation is infuriating to many of us who hold legitimately earned degrees from Carolina.

Re: The Carolina Way!

Many of you may recall that Rashad's time at Carolina was not all sunshine. I have a vague memory of his comparing Carolina to a prison because he couldn't say certain things. My perception at the time was that the only thing he sought at Carolina was an NBA ticket which he took after three years. I...

Re: Interlopers

If we had 10k alums that supported App the way Daphne does that KBS expansion thread wouldn't be necessary!!! Absolutely agree!!! - I nominate her as our official Interloper Supreme !!! :o Awww shucks! Saint, I wish we could get 10,000 alums in the Yosef Club at any level! For the number of ...

Re: Interlopers

This "interloper" who's only been following App for 9 years (since the son enrolled) is thankful for all the folks who have welcomed her into the App family. No one at either Yosef or the Appalachian Foundation has ever quizzed me on whether the funds I donate came from a job acquired based on a deg...

Re: Open Practice

Isn't it nice that all of us are excited about a coach and not insulting each other's opinion? And Daphne...what the latest on band numbers? Is the new guy getting it done? I don't have any band info. I'm guessing we won't know much on that until fall gets here. Any band folks here with info on the...

Mark has graduated and, as I understand it, hopes to finish his last two years of eligibility in grad school somewhere. I'll miss him and tailgating with his parents who have been friends for years and years.

Open Practice

I had the pleasure of having dinner with several App folks last evening. Jim Fox was there to share a little more on his plans for the upcoming season. The plans for engagement with the students and fans are encouraging and include open practices and hanging out at tAPProom following each home game ...

So ready for the GAS 100 days!

Let's see ...
10 days left in May
30 days in June
31 days in July
Game on the 30th of August

101 days :D

Of course, one could easily argue that it's only 100 days since the actual game day wouldn't be counted as a "day until kickoff".

Yes, I'm a football junkie.

Re: Bear Bryant

This has nothing in particular about ASU football, but I thought this quote from a T-shirt worn by a young lady at a swim meet recently says a lot toward athletes in any sport today. It's not the will to win that matters. Everyone has that. It's the will to prepare that matters. Bear Bryant. I'm a ...
