Is the game before us holding up the start of the game? Or are the lights out. No stats yet. They could start the game with TV if the lights were on and the scoreboard is working.

Re: Free Throws

You have to look a bit further into this. The outcome of the first free throw is important for those that are 1&1 opportunities for fouls 7-9. A miss on the first creates an automatic Miss on the second since the second one doesn’t occur. But statistically the 2nd shot never occurred so it is not p...

At one time when football was down in a game my thought was "We got this. Not sure how but we got it." and I was not worried. Basketball was "We up by 15. I wonder how we choke?"

Now late in the 2nd half for basketball I am more like, "I wonder what we win by."

Re: NCAA Video Game

Each player who opts in for the EA Sports College Football 25 gets $600 and a free copy of the game. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39574788/players-opting-ea-sports-college-football-25-get-600 I can't decide if $600 is enough...Given scholarship and team size limits that means EA...

Re: NCAA Video Game

I assume there will be a player editor or team editor available. I think that was on option on the most recent editions of the PS and Xbox versions. If that is the case and you don't take the money someone is likely to edit you into the game anyway. And you are out $600 (is that still the limit on ...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

The NC Physics Teachers are meeting in Charlotte in a few weeks. In an effort to lower my carbon footprint I am taking Amtrak. I was looking at city buses to get to the hotel and then bumming a ride from someone that drove but someone volunteered to pick me and anyone else up at the train station. T...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

My biggest issue is that rail is just still expensive. The Brightline (owned by Japanese hedge fund) just expanded from South Florida (West Palm, Ft Lauderdale, Miami) to Orlando. The problem is that the cost is still just not reasonable. Premium round trip tickets from Orlando to Miami this past w...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

It faster than flying that is for sure ...but it is what it is ...not a high speed train similar to the Japanese bullet train...as well . One of the U. S. failures many years ago. Increasing accessibility with a high speed bullet train option is where we should focus. DC .to NYC is just one example...

Re: NCAA Video Game

I know the conferences did but according to an article I read there are some schools who declined. There is some expenses that EA Sports might be pushing onto the schools with having some take their own video with 360° cameras and drone shots but this seems like a lot of great advertising that woul...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

Our government isn’t serious about mass transit. Too busy spending money outside of the country. It is moving in that direction. The Infrastructure Bill was bipartisan. Amtrak ridership is up and in VA and NC setting records. It is a bit chicken and egg. The services need to be in place to be used ...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

Unless it is with high speed option, like Eurostar or similar, I question demand to use. The Acela (sp?) from DC to NYC still takes too long in my opinion.. Its faster than flying between the two after you consider the time to get into the city from either airport and you don't need to deal with TS...

Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1

Back in December, NC did pretty good with some state supported routes being funded for study and major funding from Richmond to Raleigh was funded to begin work. Earlier in the week the FRA released some proposed long distance routes. Nothing guaranteed but one proposed route would run from Chattano...

Re: Elon getting Charlotte law school.

High point was wildly in debt last I had heard. Their campus is pretty ridiculous. Iron fencing all the way around with a number of amenities. Lots of jersey license plates. I was at a meeting there about 2 years ago and I asked that question about debt. They stated that all the new construction wa...
