Re: Hints at Next Season
I can't see Bibby as our starter. His lateral quickness isn't good enough to guard starters in the SBC. Unless we add a PG I could see the starting 5 as: Forrest Delph Gregory K. Lewis J. Lewis I think this is a fair take My thinking on Bibby was mainly from an offensive/Forrest perspective. With W...

Re: Hints at Next Season
I was thinking about what the rotation for Kearns might look like next season. I imagine that we will see as many as 10-11 players get action early. That will probably tighten up to 8-9 in conference play and as we creep towards the Sun Belt Tournament, my guess is that we will see a pretty establis...

Re: Football Staff
So as of right now who are the coaches on the staff and what do they coach (other than head coach Clark)? Asking for a friend. Nolan Jones -- Asst AD for Football Operations Brad Bielaniec -- Director of Athletic Performance Marcus Jones -- Asst Director of Athletic Performance Shawn Clark -- HC Da...

Re: Wisconsin
Just FYI, if we discuss this game over the next nine months, I got no patience for the #BeatMorganState or #BeatWake types. Us fans can talk about what we want. I think you’ll see about a 50/50 split on replies of #BeatMorganState - half who are serious and think that a message board impacts game p...

Re: Next Years Roster
Does DGB transfer? Not that he would factor much into next years starting lineup (barring injuries), but could be a factor in 2021 and going forward. I thought about this. He did redshirt this year so would he have to sit out again if he transfers? Idk how the new transfer portal works with immedia...

Re: Who stays, who goes?
I could totally see Riley staying. He has the family pedigree, but he's also really young. If I'm Drink, I'm hiring as experienced a staff as I possibly can.

Outside Hire vs Hiring from Within
Last year when Doug hired Drinkwitz, I agreed with the notion that the program was ready to inject some new ideas into a program with such a strong foundation and culture. Sometimes, in order to bust through the glass ceiling and continue to elevate your program on and off the field, it's valuable t...

Re: We choked
I think what was most concerning to me was it felt like Southern had way more intensity out of the gate than we did. I really felt that after getting our butts kicked in Statesboro last year (falling out of the rankings, watching them rush the field, etc) we'd want to come out and hit them in the mo...

Re: (Afternoon) Classes need to be canceled Thursday for GaSo
The obvious solution is that they should cancel all the classes at App for good. Attendance to all football games becomes mandatory and students can only wear jerseys as approved on campus attire. Instead of class, all students train to play football in the event we need added depth to the roster. ...

This is a huge bummer. Between Harrington, Peoples and Jalin last season, we have had some tough injury luck at RB the past couple of years.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search
Lutz stated on DG show that App is looking at a younger candidate. $&@+ ! Where has “younger” gotten us recently? I’d take proven winner over little boy with potential any day right now. Especially when the geezer apparently really wants to be here. In fairness, this could be taken out of context. ...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search
Per HoopDirt: Early names at Appalachian State include Gardner-Webb head coach Tim Craft, Presbyterian head coach Dustin Kerns, and Campbell head coach Kevin McGeehan. Yikes. All of these are Big South coaches which is interesting. Tim Craft would be my vote of the three listed. I'm not entirely su...

Re: Fox fired
In my opinion, and it makes me sad, this will be a tough job to fill. Reality bites. It’s been 9 years since we were in the finals and I think that’s the ONLY time in the 19 since we last made NCAA. And only twice dancing in 47 years. While there are other of the 350 D1 basketball school worse, tha...

Re: Fox fired
Considering our record the past five years, the fact that he's recruited many of our players could also be a good argument for not retaining Allison. That makes no sense whatsoever considering the talent has improved practically every year. But the record didn't improve. That's the first thing they...

Re: Fox fired
I think salary is important to note here for the next hire. I’ll probably need someone to provide factual accuracy of past salaries, but our budget for this position is typically in that $150-250k range and nothing to me suggests that it’ll be anything substantially different than that. As great as ...
