Re: Light Rail to UNCC
Most of the crime at the transit center involves G4S Special police beating poor people up and charging them with resisting a police officer. Otherwise just a few open containers and failure to pay fairs. Do you actually believe that? If so, it's from listening to your criminal clients all day and ...

Re: Light Rail to UNCC
"private owned and deputized" should never have to be used in the same sentence. Such is life in corporate America. After I posted the question I found some information on the internet. I did not think to search Google until I hit send on my question. And yes, I have been cruising the internet since...

Re: Light Rail to UNCC
What is G4S, as in what do the letters and number mean, or is it just a private security force?

Re: Light Rail to UNCC
Here is one study though not conclusive suggests public transit did not have an effect on crime rates.

There are some other studies online but that is all I have time for at the present. Other studies may tell a different story.

Re: Bubas Cup 18 March 2018
Given we sponsor all the sports it would be nice to be top three each year, though remember the sports with few schools does not really help much either. Even if we won MSOC we are only getting 6 points. Better than 1 or 2 points but not like winning 12 points.

I am on a big anti Prig-5 rant of late, and this one has me torn. I guess I am leaning WVU though.

Re: Heels Bite the Dust in Charlotte no less
I want to make a proposal for YC/MMB- Until UNC-CH self imposes some penalties, heck anything really, we only refer to them as UNC-CHeat. So instead of "Heels Bite the Dust in Charlotte no less" as a thread title it would be titled "UNC-CHeat Bites the Dust in Charlotte no less" Thanks for posting i...

Bubas Cup 18 March 2018
Softball and Baseball now included though very early in the season of course. We have dropped a spot in overall points due to the start of baseball and softball.

Re: football love from virginia loss
I think this one tops them all except the Miracle on Ice. That was college kids beating an NHL all start team at the heart of the Cold War. It’ll never be toppled. A mismatch like that might not even be played again. On the one hand if is hard to argue between college kids and some professional pla...

I attended an AP workshop at UMBC a few years ago. I was there for a week and lived in the dorms. Just how much can I celebrate with the "We did it!" phrase fans use.

Light Rail to UNCC
Not really sure how much this will change life at UNCC but I would think it would make it a bit more attractive to attend UNCC. Besides night-life this will be a good selling point to students desiring internships in downtown Charlotte. Then again, I just love things that move on two or more rails, ...

Re: A Polish Pope, A Man on the Moon, We think it’s time for Beer in Boone
I know some of the recent posts had been lost due to some tech issues with the server but I did not think we had lost 5 years worth of posts. Well if we did lose 5 years worth of posts I can recap. 3 bowl wins in FB and softball took the series from ULM in game three in extra innings. Outside ...

Bubas Cup Final Winter Sports
I added to Bubas point won for GaSt and LR by virtue of winning the basketball tourneys. I could add softball and I should since we are sitting high right now after the weekend but I am going to wait until both softball and baseball has SBC play which also gives everyone some time to look at the res...
