Re: Pro Day 3/28

A few observations from Pro Day: -Big Mike was there to support the 8 guys that worked out, it was kind of strange having him involved considering he is in UL now. -Stout killed it in the vertical and on the bench. Ran a sub 5 40yd. He worked hard today. -Tae Hayes had a good day. His 40 was strong...

Re: Pro Day 3/28

I don't think April 4th is a good move. According to some articles online there are several NFL teams who start draft meetings next week so they probably won't have a scout at our workout. Anyone know why it was moved back? Was it simply because Drink thought we could or because Jalin was not ready...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Talked to DG today.....He took a lot of heat for not considering Lutz, but he is absolutely confident that he got the right guy for the MBB program. In DG we trust!

Re: Appstate Endzone Camera

Once the new facility is finished, the visitors will use our current locker rooms and we will use North End Zone facility locker rooms. Really, the best way to handle this would be to dig the corridor out and turn it into a tunnel and have stairs going up and into our current locker rooms. We'd nev...

If you ever spent any time talking to DG you would realize he is a smart man. He understands this business and is good at it. My interaction with him leaves me confident.
Yep, down to earth too. He doesn’t come off as political.... straight shooter.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Just watched the presser. I am optimistic. He says all the right things and seems like a good dude. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with our program. Also, I will say Congrats dude, and welcome to App Mrs. Kerns! Very attractive lady! Kerns did mention one thing which I've been saying for ...

Re: Field House Bricks

I inquired about having the Yosef Club's "Wall of Fame" removed intact and incorporated into the NEZ project. It was built with contributions from former athletes "who gave their all" over the decades. No dice. Apparently, it wasn't deemed important enough to save. I learned by walking around on a ...

I know the topic has shifted over to beers, but I have to just say... Fanta Orange and Orange Crush was brought up and nobody countered with Sunkist? Sunkist has to be the king of orange soda.
To quote Dan Lebatard.... go walk into the ocean. Jk, Sunkist is ok.,

Re: Luke Combs

I'm a 60's/70's music fan but my grandson did turn me on to Combs. I actually like a few of his songs and that's saying something since I don't like today's country. Definitely like his passion for App. Not to highjack this thread, but did anyone go to the Eric Church concert in Greensboro a few we...

Any updates on today's Pro Day progress?

Not finding any peep of info online.
As someone stated above, Pro Day is next Thursday.

Re: Who’s going to be in Boone Saturday

I have a father daughter dance with my 5 year old, so I’m missing the spring practice and going to Pro Day next week instead. For those who go, post what you see! Is the pro day open to the public? *Edit* No, it is closed to the public. ;) and since I don't have a pay site, I'll share what I observ...

Re: Luke Combs

I am about as far away from being a country music fan as you can get, but I think Combs is talented and has quality songs, and I actually like a few Stapleton songs. My wife listens to country, so if Combs or Stapleton are on I don’t immediately change her station.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I’m breaking protocol here, but I have an inside source that says we were close to announcing a hire when an agent for Mike Krzyzewski reached out to DG. Expect Jon Scheyer to lead the blue devils in the sweet 16 game Friday night. Coach K should be announced here as soon as the BOTs approve hiring...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

This is my one and only post on this topic. A LOT has changed since the post about a hire being announced today was made just three days ago. Given all that has taken place, today has gone from probably to doubtful and is heading towards not a chance in hell. That is all. I now return you to the no...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Lutz would of won the press conference, lots of media coverage for App and IMO probably the safest bet to get us to atleast .500 or better consistently in the conference. Sadly, it appears Doug isn't interested. Lutz said he was willing to come, but I suspect they may not even been an offer on the ...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

AppSt89 nailed it.... Some of us have the luxury of the same "access" that those running the premium sites have, but when it comes to my almamater, I'm not interested in making money on people like me who just want to follow their school. Again, I'm a business guy, and I'm not knocking someone for ...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Guys: if you want to support free journalism, you shouldn’t do what Appgrouch has done. By posting Steve Behr’s article in its entirety without so much as a link, you’ve deprived the Democrat of pageviews — i.e. revenue. If you don’t see the harm, the Democrat is like all the other media outlets in...
