Ninth Student Death Reported at ASU

Sad to have to post this info on yet another Appalachian student's death. This makes #9 during the 2014-15 academic year. This is as bizarre as it is troubling and saddening. Apologies to anyone who might have posted this earlier. I looked pretty carefully and was surprised not to find it. http://ww...

Re: App @ Stink

Top four scorers and five of their top six are seniors, so this is their year to win. Have to give them credit for taking advantage of it. Wonder if their coach will look for somewhere to jump after this season so he doesn't have to stick around for the rebuilding job? Speaking of which, I went to ...

Re: Site Updates

This is the first time I've been able to connect in almost 24 hours. I've tried every couple of hours since yesterday afternoon. So, maybe this is a hopeful sign. Was going to post a ASU-GaSouth men's bkb thread; but don't want to be the reason someone else can't connect. So, Give 'em Hell, Apps in ...

Re: Site Updates

Does this HAVE to happen on the last weekend before signing day? Negative - it does not. As suggested though, the site should only be down for a minimal amount of time (less than 20-30 minutes). I EXPECT it to only be down for about 5 minutes. I am just baking in some extra time in the event of a p...

http://www.news.appstate.edu/2015/01/27/campaign-for-appalachian/ This is pretty cool, don't know if it was posted before if it was just disregard this. But very nice our school set this goal and have now surpassed it. Thanks for posting this. Ken Peacock can forever hold his head high. This was "h...

WSJ: Nate Healey recovering from serious injury/condition

Former MBkB star Nate Healey suffered a ruptured kidney in a Hungarian pro league game in December. After diagnosis and treatment in a Hungarian hospital, he flew home and underwent emergency surgery at NC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Now, he's on the mend, but his playing career is on hold, at...

Re: Flashback: 25 years ago; ETSU @ ASU

Back in the early to mid 80's games at VG seemed to be attended pretty well. Seemed like a crappy place to watch a game if you had to sit in the endzone. Just a big high school gym. We had Kevin Cantwell who followed up Bobby Cremins. I remember hearing about a pretty big home win in '81- over Duke...

This has gone too far. I respectfully request that you guys take your gunfights to e-mail. You're setting a terrible example for forum members and leaving a bad impression on the hundreds of guests who visit the MMB every day. This thread isn't a proper place for battle. Please show some respect for...

Re: ASU @ Texas State Sat. 1.24 5:30 PM ET San Marcos, TX

I don't see Fox lasting four years here. Fox has to put together some 20 win seasons, win a title and a trip to the NCAA tourney before he goes anywhere. If he wins and if we address his salary aggressively, he may surprise us by how long he stays. Remember, his mentor is Bob McKillop. McKillop has...

I think Fox's main competition will be Mark Byington from GaSouth and perhaps Keith Richard at UL-M. Ron Hunter at GaState has seen his team slip; as has Bob Marlin at UL-L.

Re: WBkB @ Tx State

Not sure why Snydor only played 17 mins. Only had 1 foul. Was she injured? I just caught about a minute of the broadcast with just iver five minutes to play. THey mentioned someone with an injury that just couldn't continue. I didn't catch a name; but I assume from the box score it must have been S...

Re: WBkB @ Tx State

Suffering a rare off night by Mariah Sydnor, the Mountaineer women (9-9, 4-5 Sun Belt) fell to Tx State 67-58 on the road in San Marcos. The Bobcats pulled ahead in the last three minutes to pick up the win.

Does the cracker box sitting in Tx State's BB arena detract from a really nice venue?
