Re: Fastest to top 25?
Marshall was kicked out of the MAC for cheating which is how they found their way to the SoCon from what I remember reading. They have a history of this.

Different areas of their coverage may not carry it? I get all sorts of promos from them in my area with ATT fiber. None could be used in Granite Falls with my daughter.

Re: Fastest to top 25?
Marshall made it in just their 3rd year in 1999. That has to be the fastest. They finished that year undefeated and #10 in the AP. http://collegepollarchive.com/football/ap/teams/summary.cfm?teamid=152#.W7wIgRkpA0M Boise didn't make it until their 7th year in 2002, but have made at least one appear...

I don't think this is big enough yet. Not that I don't think this award is small news either.

Re: Line Out for App v Arkansas State
A $10 bet returns $19. Origanl bet plus 90%. Line has moved 1.5 points since opening at 7.5. It takes abou $500k to move the line one way or another. Yes, the odsmakers tend to give he home field a 3 point advantage, but it really means nothing when placing the bet. So house keeps 10% on each bet t...

[tweet]https://twitter.com/redditcfb/status/1049055034107817984?s=21[/tweet] If you want to petition or thank voters on twitter here’s the full list and how they voted I love App, but I am way to lazy to read that chart. Can someone please give me the short list of who voted for App and what positi...

Re: David Jackson
Another good DJ call was "I don't care!" after the Miracle on the Mountain play when it was noted that App was getting a 15 yard penalty for celebrating after the 2 point put us in the lead.

Re: Boone Mechanics
Would a 2000 Camry have a carburetor? It is probably fuel injected. Sounds like he might have a bad cell in the battery. He can pop the covers off the top and see if one or more are low on water. But I agree with CVAPP, put some cables on it and see if it will jumpstart. My uncle and Grandpa were m...

Re: Boone Mechanics
I am no mechanic but since everyone is tossing out ideas here is mine. Being from the south I also "crank" a car, which drives my transplanted NY wife crazy as the crank has been gone for a century. But maybe he is turning the crank counter clockwise instead of clockwise? Also check the carburetor. ...

I don't care for it, but it has become their thing and what seems lame to us is a sacred tradition to them so for that good for them.
I just don't care for purple.

Re: JMU
Coastal took JMU's chance at FBS anytime soon. Now buyer's remorse is taking hold on the part of JMU folks. I don't care for JMU and never did, but I will give them credit for being the NDSU of Virginia. Their Alums should appreciate that, it seems. JMU gives us a school that is close to us in scho...

Good ole' Dr. Caton (I am sure that was the professor there). A few years ago he asked me to write him a reference for an award for the entire UNC system. I felt so inadequate but so honored to be asked. I had Dr. Gray for Astronomy and Dr. Caton was one of the few in the Physics and Astronomy Dept ...

Re: App Open House
I really hope my daughter at Meredith goes to grad school at App. Hopefully they will offer her more money than they did for her and her twin two years ago. App missed out on two wonderful students due to lack of a larger endowment. (And here ends my plug to please give to the Appalachian Fund to ex...

Re: App Open House
Went to Boone today, which was weird with no game, but parked in the Stadium lot and took a meditative moment and looked longingly at the stadium and I swear there's some kind of energy that just emanates from that field. Anyway, took my son on his first official college visit and I have to say I w...
