Re: Depth chart
Lots to be excited about. Just a few thoughts... I counted 24 freshmen on the two-deep. I'm betting a couple of them will still be redshirted, but it's encouraging to see that many first-year players making an impact. Shaq Counts, who I believe was 260 when he signed, is listed at 295. Graham Fisher...

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I've updated the recruiting list at the top of this thread, adding three or four new names. I appreciate your hard work that keeps informed on the ASU recruiting front. When you add to the list is there a way to denote the additions so we know who you've added? Again, thanks for your efforts! Thank...

Goupstate.com offers a recruiting update on SG Justin McKie (6-4, 180) of Ermo High School in Columbia, S.C. He holds several high-major offers but seems to have some interest in us. http://www.goupstate.com/article/20120821/PSPORTS02/120829887/-1/news04?Title=USC-s-Martin-offers-Gamecock-legacy" on...

Re: Scrimmage Opinions
I was impressed with our defense. Yes, there were breakdowns, especially early. But as the scrimmage progressed, we asserted ourselves. Henry Barnes is a playmaker. He might not crack the starting lineup this year, but he is an outstanding backup. Chris Shaffer impressed, as well. Doug Middleton was...

Recruiting, 2012
Per Twitter, RHP Robert Whaley (6-2, 210) of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory has committed to App. Whaley, who will be a sophomore at CVCC this season, was an all-region selection last year for a team that went to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World...

Re: Wednesday Scrimmage
I didn't mean to sound like I was throwing in the towel on this team. I think there is great potential for this edition of ASU football. I do believe that this team will get better and better as the season progresses. I think the next couple of years are going to be exciting to watch as I believe t...

Re: New recruit
I found it interesting that we went after him in 2010 as a junior but then he busted out as a senior to the point of having, according to Rivals, 26 FBS offers, mostly BCS offers. But it appears from some of the articles I've read that he didn't forget that we were one of the first to find him. Aga...

Re: New recruit
I agree with Daze that we shouldn't heap undue expectations on this young man. How many transfers have we had who actually lived up to billing? I'll be surprised to see him get much meaningful playing time until a few games into the season. Still, it's difficult not to be encouraged by his potential...

Re: New recruit
Heard from reliable source today that ASU signed a transfer from Oregon. Supposedly a 5 star WR that redshirted his freshman year with the Ducks. Said to have great speed. No confirmation yet on goasu.com. Great tip. Thanks for passing it along. Here are the wideouts on last year's roster. (Eric Du...

Hernando High School in Dade City, Florida - four prospects - Is that where our new coach, former player, "what's his name" was coaching? Nope. Mark Ivey coached at Barton Collier High School in the Napels area. I'm guessing our connection at Hernando is a combination of Ivey, Satterfield and DL/LB...

Not to highjack the thread, but did anybody notice that the runner who broke his leg while helping the U.S. win a gold medal in the 4x400 relay yesterday -- Manteo Mitchell of Shelby -- is a Western Carolina alumnus?
