Re: Please defend NIL
More than 1% of D1 athletes are getting NIL deals. They're just not getting the giant money headline deals everyone sees. Blue Deer Cookie in Boone and the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce got into NILs. App had dozens of NIL deals last summer before a single ball was kicked in competition. I bet the...

Re: App State Beat Writer
Ethan moved on. I believe that it was voluntarily. There is no beat writer for App sports that I know of. The only guys covering App Sports that I know of, other than the school are the guy from the Democrat and David Ware at 24/7. Is the Democrat even big enough to somehow get a vote in the AP Pol...

Re: App is a 3 pt dog to the Heels
Mack is doing what all coaches do. I don't mind or expect anything else from him. It is just funny to watch when they were clearly over-hyped and way over rated the last few years. What I don't like is we didn't always get the love we deserved but that is the nature of the beast and you learn to li...

Re: App is a 3 pt dog to the Heels
Listened to some of mack's ACC presser - he is still blaming the media for over ranking the holes last season and they are out to regain their prestige this season - let's please start them off like VT did last season - with a BIG L Mack is going to play it both ways, if they are low he will claim ...

Re: App is a 3 pt dog to the Heels
I just saw we are a 3 pt dog to Carolina for our home opener. That stinks but they are in business to get bets and make money. I better put some money on my boys while the line is upside down. It started at 3.5 so it has come down with very early money. I got Army +5 back in May against Coastal. It...

2022 Individual Game Tickets
I have two season tickets in section 212, aisle seats, that I have available for all games except Carolina and The Citadel. Selling for retail of what the school is charging without the $15 processing fee. PM me if interested.

Re: Please defend NIL
Even the schools moto: Esse Quam Videri is the same as North Carolina's moto: Esse Quam Videir. To be rather than to seem. We do not seem like a football school, we are a football school. I would like to know more about how Appalachian ended up with the colors Black and Gold as well as why Essi Qua...

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
So far no one has provided any language from the university that “absolutely guarantees” a regular/non-SYC member admission to every athletic event. This is probably because it is common logic that the school could NOT make that guarantee because all venues other than football CANNOT accommodate th...

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
“If the SYC is a requirement to get in then the athletic website needs to say that.” That isn’t what it says and that’s not how it reads. It is being suggested that joining SYC is the most effective method to assure admission. And again, this is an extreme one off situation that requires a hardline ...

Not only that, but it helps build up priority points in YC.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 11:46 amIsn't the student YC $50 for all home games, not just UNC game..so less than $10 per game. So they get perks all season

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
So explain this to me, we only have 5,000 seats for students? What if 6,000 join the SYC expecting a seat? Now, that will make some parents IRATE!! Guess if my kids don't get a ticket I will be giving them ours and I will be missing the game WHICH REALLY TICKS ME OFF! This is my 4th year as a seaso...

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
Yes, but that isn't mentioned on the website. The guarantee is for currently enrolled students. There is no mention of an additional fee. I guess I misunderstood your original post. You were saying that if someone were to be angry, it should be over the additional fee of the SYC to receive somethin...

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
As much as I expect to get grief for this, Carolina has a pretty sweet priority system for basketball tickets. They get points for attending other sports throughout the year which gets them higher priority for basketball. Which by the way, the Smith Center can’t accommodate the entire student body.

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
Based on what is posted on the athletics website, I can't agree with that. I guess I'm being nitpicky, but I work in an environment where words mean something and if you put something in writing, it better say what you mean it to say. I think this is just another in a growing list of poorly communi...

Re: Season Tix Sold Out
I know this is all about football and frankly just the Carolina game. But other than KBS we don't have a venue that could accommodate every student if every student wanted to go to a game. And in terms of student fees, I get the argument, but our athletic fees are nowhere near the highest in the SB...
