Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?

So many of us complain about geography and travel in the Sunbelt. Would everyone suddenly stop complaining about AAC geography? As of now, Conway, Atlanta, and Statesboro are all day-trip driveable. In the AAC we'd only have 1 day-trip conference mate in ECU. Does being in a better conference and t...

Hard to believe (not really though) that we have two active threads with discussions- one regarding joining the AAC and one about going back to FCS. Talk about two extremes.
The latter one is absolutely ridiculous

Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?

Agree, the upcoming ECU contracted games will be a good opportunity for us to show off for the self proclaimed "P6" conference.

Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?

The AAC will go after Boise, not App because of their history. They want to be another power conference. No offense to Boise, our future is a lot brighter than theirs at the moment. I think Boise has hit their peak and rode their Fiesta bowl game pretty far. In the end, they are still in Boise. App...

Re: App ranked 101 in 2019 recruiting

I believe we are much higher in 247 like someone else said. No offense to our friends Moose and AppSt94 (because I know they aren't the ones doing it) but the rankings for G5 and below by 247, Rivals, etc are worthless. They are all focused on P5 programs. If you don't have a P5 offer at all they o...

Re: Doug Gillin?

I seem to recall that he may be a professor at App. I may be wrong by I recall a post some months back when he spoke of getting his doctorate and returning to App to teach. Like I said, I may be completely wrong. But, if that is the case. This could simply be the classic Academic vs. Athletic rival...

Re: Moving Back to FCS????

My friends asked if I knew for a fact that we would never win more than seven games during a season over the next twenty years, would I rather go back to FCS if I knew we would win multiple national titles? What are your thoughts on this hypothetical? Is that you, Roachel? Alex, I'll take "Chris Fo...

Walk to Bourbon street friend. Worth every minute, if your staying at the same Marriott we stayed at its 5 minute walk. Unfortunately I cannot go this year and I’m Bummed. You would be hard pressed to go somewhere in the Quarter and not find a handful of Black and Gold faithful over those two days.

Re: Could App get the invite to the AAC?

App should be working hard to ignite the Charlotte Alumni chapter and grow our brand in the Charlotte Metro. App is definitely in the Charlotte Market (just as Athens is in the Atlanta market). It is all perception and we need to work on a campaign to change that. ODU will always be a doormat, UNC C...

Re: Drinkwitz letter in WSJ

Look folks, I honestly don't think Drink is a bad guy, but he has a lot of "character flaws" that reared their head a few times this year (behind the scenes) and then here in his final hours. Just like he did here, he has shown some self awareness this year and done things to make amends. It is what...

Re: Who stays, who goes?

Hearing that Evans is deciding to stay. He wants to come back for the special season. That is great to hear. I know some folks were in his ear and supposedly had him thinking he should leave early. I wonder if Clark being HC helped at all or he had already flipped the decision? According to some pe...

Re: THE GAME

I believe we will use tightends and screens early and more than we have all year. That'll loosen up the 3-headed run machine - lights out. Is there something about the UAB defense that makes you think this or is it more about the coaching change? Coaching change - it's a wrinkle that has not been u...

Re: THE GAME

I’ve watched 2 of their replay games since yesterday. Defense is pretty solid and they swarm the ball. Don’t they they can stop our high powered offense though. I would put their offense on the same level as Texas State or South Alabama. Maybe not as good. Our D tends to get rabid in bowl games whi...

Re: NOLA Roll Call

Thanks for the input. I have been there before and I could easily kill many hours there but I was worried about the time line for security reasons. I will be by myself. The last time I was there we were approached by many homeless people looking for handouts and I didn't feel comfortable late at ni...
