Re: at Wake Forest
Our game at Wake was in 2020 and the ACC cancelled all non-conference games. Don't think it ever got re-scheduled but I thought that was supposed to happen.

I don't mean to speak for Black Saturday but I think he was referring to the NCAA with his comment.bcoach wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 9:01 amWe have a long history of waiting on things till it's too late.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 6:33 am.....Always on the cutting edge of doing things the wrong way

Re: Keep Joey 2024 - NIL
NIL is "technically" not pay to play, at least that wasn't the intent. We all know the reality based on the horrible was it was rolled out with no governance.

Re: Down Go The Heels - Yet again
Satt did a great job of building Louisville which started as a dumpster fire. This year at Cincy has been painful, so I hope he hits the portal and fills the major holes in D that he had. He won't survive another year like this. Drink obviously is doing great, finishing the regular season at #9 nati...

Re: Bowl Season
SMU was likely a better team. Tulane ? Boise ? Troy? I don’t see it. Right!? They all lost their bowl games to middling p5s . This year was not a G5 year, it’s not always like that, but this year it is. Exactly. The top of the G5 wasn't as high as it has been. Obviously the exit of the top AAC team...

Re: Bowl Season
FSU is playing their 3rd string against UGA starters. This isn’t a reflection of the “real” FSU Not a FSU fan AT ALL (actually can’t stand them) but to judge their team on this game is a joke Unfortunately bowls have been ruined in my opinion. All but the playoffs are a joke And Georgia doesn't hav...

Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?
I don’t believe we have the type of innovative staff for a drastic offensive scheme change. I wouldn't characterize Jerry Moore as "innovative" but he did it. That said, I'm really not sure that we need a whole new system. We do need to add some wrinkles and figure out how to use misdirection. Mix ...

Re: Bowl Season
Playoffs are 12 teams next year - correct? Yes but only 1 G5 team included. I've asked this question before. Who exactly had the official authority to separate the FBS level football programs into two separate divisions (so to speak)- P5 and G5? In basketball they refer to some schools as mid major...

Re: Bowl Season
I might be wrong for doing it but I pulled against the G5 teams in matchups against P5s, except for Troy’s game against Duke and Liberty’s game against Oregon. My rationale is 1) we need the Sun Belt to become the clear No. 1 conference among G5s (for example: SMU’s loss to Boston College knocks do...

Absolutely want both to win. The conference image has taken enough of a beating this bowl season. I hope we run the table in the remaining bowls (although I don't think that's going to happen)

Re: App vs Asheville in Hickory
There is no doubt that this was a disappointing performance. I turned on the game at half-time and was shocked to see us trailing by 21 points. It does happen, especially in basketball where a player can get hot from 3 and just take over a game. Clearly, App didn't play our best either. The only up-...

Kids going to the portal has nothing to do with running a tight ship. If a kid decides to bolt, by definition, they are stepping outside the program controls.

Re: Sunbelt bowl games scores
The bowl performances have been disappointing so far (other than App) but we haven't exactly seen the top half of the group playing yet (again other than App). I thought ODU was a long shot, but blowing a 28 point lead is just sad. GS was definitely a disappointment and I don't know how UL could let...

Re: #TeamClark
Since we are playing games with semantics, perhaps folks should figure out the difference between "goals" and "expectations." It looks to me like that's the point of diversion here. Everybody here agrees that the "goal" is always to win, one game at a time and ultimately championships. "Expectations...

Re: Cignetti
I do think it will be interesting. I would imagine he is a good coach, but it seems his inexperience in recruiting for a scholarship based program could require a learning curve. I would think he hires a staff that helps to fill those experience gaps. It will definitely be interesting.
