Re: Troy game day thread
Great job, Apps! Incredible performance by the O-Line. It's great to have Gossett, Nunn and Collins back in the rotation. Strong performance by the defense also. Team needed a big win badly. Can't wait to be back in Boone in 2 weeks! It was great to have them back in rotation but how bout some love...

Re: MSOC v. Ga State @ Ted Mackorell Complex
MSOC fall in OT 1-0 Apparently, it all boiled down to raw foot speed. Another bad sign for the remainder of the season. We aren't scoring against the better teams on the schedule and we had trouble matching the speed of Radford, Duke and Ga State. The remainder of the conference games are at home--...

Re: Taylor Lamb= Class effing Act
Only negative for Taylor today was his long passing game. But, he did a masterful job running the offense. No doubt this game will do wonders for his confidence.

WSOC falls to ULL
Dominate the stats but fall 2-1. After starting 2-0 in SBC play, WSOC have gone 1-3 over their last 4 SBC games. They return to action Sunday v. ULM.

Re: end of norpac?
I'm not sure how the scholarship numbers work for field hockey but with Title 9 we have to balance men's and women's scholarships. When the new AD is hired cutting field hockey and wrestling are 2 things they will probably consider. I would think adding women's lacrosse is a possibility ( since the...

Former App QB at Emory & Henry
Former App QB recruit Kevin Saxton transferred to D3 Emory and Henry and has led them to the an undefeated season thus far. Always glad to see kids get their chance. Obviously, he was far down the depth chart here and not likely to see the field. Seems he made a good choice for himself. http://www.g...

Re: Hey, GUESS WHAT, We are YOUNG !!!
It gets truely brutal when you are away from home, keeping up with the game on gamecast, hitting refresh on the final drive, realizing that we are probably setting up for a winning field goal and knowing that there is less than a 10% chance of making even a chipshot. Even when we were average FCS t...

Re: Appalachian taking its time in search for AD
How many here have planned meetings for 19 people, it is extremely difficult to get 19 people in a room multiple times much less have them agree on something? Sorry for "complaining", geez guys. I get your point and I don't dispute it is a valid one. However, I just don't want to prejudge the result.

I appreciate everyone's take on the size of the committee. Perhaps, we should wait and see who they pick before we rush to judgement.

Re: Hey, GUESS WHAT, We are YOUNG !!!
On the year, App has missed 2 XPs. Arguably, the best teams in the SBC have also missed at least 2. Ark State 2, ULL 2, USA 2, Ga Southern 4. Our kicking game hasn't been stellar. However, why do we assume that every team in the conference is dead on perfect. Or even more ridiculously suggesting tha...

Re: Upshaw to start over Cox
Upshaw had a nice game v. Liberty and he ran with conviction. My only concern is that he doesn't look to cut up the field on the sweep. He tends to continue to run towards the sideline and runs out of real estate. It seemed to me that there were times when there was yardage to be gained if he had cu...

Re: Top four reasons why people are SO upset
Didn't we steal Sam Martin from a soccer scholly at ga state? Pretty sure he was about to go there on a soccer scholarship before we convinced him to come to app. Although he isn't a place kicker, I think he shows you can successfully cross over. I believe he played both in high school. No doubt ma...

Re: Lamb
On a couple of those throws, the receiver could have called a fair catch cause he was waiting so long for it. FBS teams won't have that soft of a secondary. Was going to make the same point...this week he under threw the ball on some of those long passes. Underthrows also can lead to PI calls if yo...
