Re: MBB in SBC Tourney Round 1: Apps @ ULM 8 PM ESPN+

I’m sorry for Ronshad as he’s clearly one of the most talented players to have ever played for this program.

Now that he season is over, it’s time to formally move on and start fresh. I trust DG will make the correct decision.

As always, Go App!

Re: New Hire

I actually think the reasoning for hiring Fox (taking a proven assistant from a mid major with pedigree that was young and hungry for his shot) was the right approach. Just the wrong guy.

I think targeting a coach from the same type of background will be what happens again.

Re: At Tennessee this weekend

Playing the long game with App baseball. I'm a Kermit fan and the roster is very young. All the ingredients for great program building. Having your weekend starters all as Freshman & Sophomores should prove to be an awesome foundation for improvement the next couple years. All three guys seem talent...

Re: Men's Basketball @ A-State

Was fox Doug’s hire? He was not. Who was it Doug,Beasley or Cobb? Prince Charlie Cobb Not wanting to defend CC here, but most people thought this was a solid hire at the time. Fox has done a lot of good things for our program in correcting off court issues. Sure and he definitely inherited a mess. ...

Re: Saint Louis game debacle

I agree with most that winning will solve some of the attendance issues and I think most would agree that the winning part of the equation won't come from Fox. Fox has done some good things here. The Capel era here was an unmitigated disaster there is no getting around it. It took Fox a couple of ye...

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

Fox has to go. It’s been evident for some time now. We all wanted it to work out when he was hired, but at this point the ceiling of the program under his care has been realized.

I know that the buyout is a tough hurdle to cross, but it’s necessary in order to move the program forward.

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

Wonder if Gillin could talk McMahon to come back to App. might be problematic, based on his current salary and trajectory for success at Murray State. He might end up as a high major coach... https://www.wpsdlocal6.com/2018/06/26/mcmahons-contract-details-released/ Agreed, I'm afraid the ship has s...

Re: MBB: App State at S.Alabama 8PM Tonite Mobile

Shabazz and Forrest shot 29 field goals combined (made 10) and the other 9 guys that played went a collective 17-26. Only 16 assists as a team.

Need to move the ball wayyyy more than we are. It’s a 2 vs 5 game at times.

RealTimeRPI has App going 1-10 in the next six weeks. If that happens, hands to keys to Allison.
Are you suggesting hand the keys to Allison to finish the year out or hand the keys to Allison to be the new coach?

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

Couldn’t begin to provide a list of names or suggestions to take over that are realistic/viable, but I imagine that App would be an attractive program for coaches looking to get their break. The Football brand is extremely strong right now which can help draw recruits and North Carolina is basketbal...

Re: Saint Louis game debacle

It ain’t working with Fox. That’s undeniable. But we’re not in a position to fire him this season. The extension was a huge mistake. I agree. Especially a 2 year extension when an extension at all was very questionable. I really thought he was the right guy early on, and he still says the right thi...

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

I'd give Bryan Lentz a look. While he did spend time under Fox he isn't really a Fox guy. He's really a part of the Barnes tree with building blocks from his dad at Lenoir Rhyne. On the same staff I'd go for Rob Lanier. He would certainly be someone hungry and looking for a chance to prove himself....
