Re: Coach Prime Colorado
How many hours a day does Deion spend making Rick Flair type videos and speeches? The other coaches at that level are using that time coaching. But he’s coming. Wonder when when he is going to get there. He has been coming for almost a week now.

College players may be sacrificing their bodies for the entertainment of adults , but they don’t have to do so. It is their choice. They could go back to being regular students - but they’d have to go to class.

Maybe he was a 5 star in high school but it didn’t translate to college. The ones that evaluate and award the stars always miss on a bunch of them. Or maybe the player slipped - college is a different life with a lot of stuff that can catch your interest. Some players get sidelined.

Re: World Cup
This is why I don’t gamble on the games anymore. You never know. I’m pulling for the Dutch to win it all (my ancestors came from there).
Thumbs up to Croatia! What a match. Brazil was going at them the entire match but they held ‘em off. Goalie was outstanding.

Re: Coach Prime Colorado
Can he coach? The word in coaching circles is that he is a great motivator and a great recruiter but there are questions about coaching on the next level. Even if you hire good people, the head coach must know football and coaching. Moving there at a good time with USC and UCLA moving out. Turned Ja...

Looking for the list of successful coaches who stayed at a mid level school and had more lucrative job offers (more than doubling their salary) but turned them down and remained at that successful mid level school. These would be the life changing offer but they said no I love ______ University too ...

Maybe some coaches are like some players, they don’t give a rip about the bowls so they opt out and move on.

Re: SATTERFIELD TO CINCY
ASU is a “stepping stone job” if you win. If you don’t, you ain’t stepping anywhere. It wasn’t one for Jerry Moore, but was for Drink and Buzz and Satt and Cremins and Mac and Sparky. Not so for Foxx or Capel or Working (jump on that scatman, I know you got no use for Working) or Cantwell. The jury ...

Re: GAME THREAD - MBB vs Carlow - 6:30pm, Tuesday, December 6h
I take it back - what I said about Trevecca. Got kin coaching in Nashville who says Trevecca offers a top education (just behind Vandy and Belmont) as TN institutes go. And they are trying to build a basketball program the proper way. My apologies to anybody affiliated with Trevecca or has a heart f...

Re: GAME THREAD - MBB vs Carlow - 6:30pm, Tuesday, December 6h
I’ve read the posts in this thread and agree with all of them/you. I thought I knew about every school in the country, at least the ones in the south. But find out I don’t. Carlow? Probably a one building “college.” Belmont beat Trevecca Nazarene last night. Playing teams from the church league now....

They appear to be better without Renaldo.
8 left. Can anyone of them win it? I’d say maybe but Morocco, Croatia and Argentina are the long shots?

Re: GAME THREAD - MBB vs Carlow - 6:30pm, Tuesday, December 6h
The offensive game plan usually breaks down as soon as the team realizes the opponent will not keep up. Victory in the bag and whatever we do will work because the opponent is terrible. Maybe 5-10 minutes worth.

Re: SATTERFIELD TO CINCY
The only thing high school coaches should rail against are conferences that play Friday night games. Friday nights are for high school games. It’s only one night a week. Don’t encroach on it.

Now that they have the video, they are measuring offsides by the inch, not by the obvious. Troubling. But I understand. Offsides is offsides.

Had a nephew in LA who built a fancy stairway in her house. Said she was the nicest lady you’d ever meet.

Re: World Cup
I think they don’t want to stop a soccer game when a team is mounting a good attack on goal. They wait til the possession changes or the ball goes out and then say it’s over. Kind of like in the old days on the gridiron when the ref had the play clock (no display for everybody to see). If the offens...
